if u mean how to extract the both files together into the one update file ..

simply, hold the Ctrl button, and then click the part1, then part2, and when both r marked, right click, then extract here
u should have winrar.

about the pandora battery, and the magic memory stick:
if u have Custome firmware already installed, then NO u dont' need them

but if u have official firmware???! then u should follow the guide for installing the CFW and not the guide of updating CFW's

hope it helped :)

if u have CFW on ur psp and updated from the psp directly as u did, u still have the CFW, and u update the suffix the m33-3 to m33-4 as u did

regarding the files with strange names, i don't know, name them? or what r they?

no problem my friend :)

cuz u can't update from the main basic CFW to another..
i mean, u can't update from 3.71m33 to 5.00m33!

but u can update the 3.71m33-2 to 3.71m33-3 and so on as u did with the 5.00m33-3 to 5.00m33-4

thats what i know and experienced.

I'm trying to upgrade from 3.52 m33-4 to 3.71
I seleted the 3.71 M33-4. went back to game menu and seleted it but it gave me an error saying "The game could not be started(80020148)

so....can you plllease help me, I went to the recovery menu, configuration and on "game folder homebrew" is says (currently :3.52 Kernel)
My psp is 1004
and if I try to install any other updates like 3.80 or 3.90 it just freezes and I have to exit via home button. and the game menu shows a corrupted data icon.

I also wanna know, since I have 3.52 m33 4 would I be able to even download 3.90 m33-3 or do I have to download 3.71 m33-4.

and lastly how do I delete the whole upgrading thing from my psp? the thing that I downloaded on here and pasted into my psp, how would I delete it?

sorry about all the questions, I didn't wanna have to reply again and again. .... =)

Ok.. i wont harp on but if u read the instructions u will find youre answers.. 3.52 kernel is right... yes you can go straight too 3.71 but u need to do 3.71m33 and then 3.71m33-4 or 5.00m33 if you wish.. then do the m33- updates after..
just formatt memory stick after you finished to delete the files..

Make sure you have installed the 1.50 ADD-ON for 1.50 kernel applications. The best set up for 1.50 aplications is placing the 1.50 kernel applications in the GAME150 folder (if it isn't there then format the memory Stick it should create it). Doing this will allow you to keep the game folder kernel set to 3.80 so applications that run on 3.XX or higher can be played as well as the 1.50 kernel applications since they auto boot via 1.50 kernel if they are placed in the GAME150 folder.

To get your games working go to the XMB and press the select button. This will bring up the VHS menu. Now go down to UMD mode and change it to Sony NP9660 and the ISO.CSO games should then boot.
