Hi.. I am also having some problems! I have The Box Super and eventually today got the correct cables (I hope, USB to Serial and Null Modem)). However every time I try to update it remains at 0% and I get the message Flash Update Fail!!! Any advice appreciated! Thanks

Hi Scouser, Des, Celtic and the usual geniuses...
Just got back from a Christmas break and, although my genuine 'The Box Super' is *seemingly* working fine and auto-updating on 8.02e (29/11/08) in Manchester area, I find that there is a later firmware called 8.04e (24/12/08). Trouble is, I can't find out what it is supposed to fix. Is there are changelog for it anywhere? Will I be needing to flash again? I've come over all confused, thanks lads.
Happy new year BTW. :)
Slitheen

macnaxos, i have answered your other post. The easiest thing to do is to get to a pc with xp and a serial port and just use the null modem cable, the usb can be quite confusing.

You can get a usb adaptor but it gets much more complicated. If you can get access to desktop pc with xp on it you will find it much easier to flash.

I don't know much about sv3, are you using a usb or just a null modem cable? And are you on vista or xp?
Edit: Are you sure you have a null modem cable and not just an ordinary rs232?

Look in eamo's in desb's signature further up this page, you will find it in the digivox folder under documentation, called tutorial.

Hi, I've got all the right cables now, and got a starview 3 box, but I think I need to change the ports. Unfortunately the disc I have for the USB converter is a bit crap and isn't installed properly, and I don't think I can change the ports while this is the case.
Anybody know what the problem could be? I've been told the port is set at 72 and I need to change it to 1-4

I don't think the thing is installed properly so it doesn't show up. My comp can't find any update drivers for it either or anything to install it, that's why I can't get on device manager
