You can read the guide. That is what it is there for.

Hi, I just wanted to add my thanks for this guide. Everything worked first time and I've now got a very happy friend with an updated PSP.

I did hit one small problem when trying to reset my pandora battery back to normal. I was trying to power up the PSP (without the battery installed) using my PC's USB charger cable, but it seems this doesn't provide enough juice to power up the PSP without the battery. The power light would come on and then go out again, when I switched to using the mains charger everything was fine and I was able to reset the battery without a problem.

Cheers again!

Michael

Hi.

I have offical F/W and a datel battery tool.

I have created the magic memory stick as per instructions.

When i try to put the PSP in service mode it does not do it, it stays with the green LED flashing.

I've read the guide thoroughly so I'm guessing the only other option i have are using another PC (non vista) or try another memory card.

I'd appreciate any other suggestions anybody can offer.

thanks.

After the success of the Wii modification, thought I'd have a go with a PSP. Just a quickie....once I've installed CFW 3.71 M33-2, is there a particular update you recommend? I've seen sites selling MMS with 4.01 m33 already installed, just wondering if that was a popular update.

Thanks for that, going to install CFW 3.71 M33-2, then download Dark-Alex's CFW 5.00 m33-6, copy update folder to PSP and run. Read somewhere that I might have to update to 5.00 m33-4, then 5.00 m33-5 before updating to 5.00 m33-6. What do you recommend?

I just used the add-on's in this guide to update to 5.00 M33-4 from 3.71 M33-2, then downloaded the 5.00 M33-6 update , copy update folder to PSP and installed it.

Hey guys. I've read the guide but I'm having trouble. Here's what I've got.

I hard-moded an extra battery to make my pandora battery. I successfully made the mms. I loaded the cfw (3.71 m33) on my psp. It booted but and the version number checked out. I can run the updates and what not that came with the download but I can't run my backup iso's. I get the familiar error "The game could not be started. (80020321)"

I've reloaded my psp twice following the directions and I still can't use my backups. Any help?

Click on (i think the select button) which brings up the VSH menu. Then go to ISO Mode and change it to NP9660.

thanks, i've tried another Pc so it must be the memory card.

its a sony card(4GB) that i've just bought.

i'll need to buy another card to try it again, any suggestions?

is magic gate the best to use?

or would i be better buying a pre-made magic memory and copying the files across?

i saw them here: www.pandoragadgets.co.uk

is this a good place to buy from?

Yes magicgate is the best to use.

To tell if the memory stick is real or not - do this
- Sticking the stick in the psp
- Going to Videos (don't press X, just go to it)
- Press Triangle
- Go to Infomation
- At Supported, it should say MagicGate, if it doesn't then it is fake

I have used a fake memory card before, but I had to use the mspformat.exe to get it too work.
There is instruction on how to do that in this thread.

@ polarcub

Amazon shouldn't be selling fake,no

But yes mostly from hong kong, china will sell fake memory sticks in all brands.

That is why there is method to check and be sure its "magicgate supported"
