Anyway are you guys getting annoyed at xbox live yet? I've been kicked off 4 times now, it's supposedly "network problems". I keep thinking i'm getting banned each time, it's not helping my stress levels lately.

How true this is i dont know a friend told me today, that the new dashboard update is 3 red lighting alot of consoles because of the length of time it takes to update, also the consoles that are still out there that were bought on release day are in danger of red lighting and a crafty move by Microsoft the extended warranty for 3 red lights runs out 1 day before the update.
It could all be a cunning ploy by Microsoft to get every machine back to change the drives to Lite-on.

A quick update to this now and a word of warning to anyone wanting to put a second hand HDD on a legitimate machine! Be very carefull!!!!!
Please excuse the slightly larger text.....but I thought that people may want to take note of this!
Basically I've just spoken to a CS thing at MS called Thomas Harrison (A Supervisor) who told me the reason for both of these machines being BANNED is due to putting a HDD off a BANNED 360 into them, even though it had been formattedon my machine and then plugged into his.
They say it went off the serial number of the HDD, but I thought it only went off the console itself. Apparently not.....it goes off any hardware that was attached to the machine at the time of being BANNED. So basically I said that I am now over £400 down as all I have is a console to just play games on and can't play on as I wish to on LIVE due to the fact that I was stupid enough to plug something in that I thought didn't matter and I may as well throw in the bin!
And the answer your all waiting for is "YES"
There is no way I can afford to pay over £250 to buy 2 new machines (The basic models), as I need some HDD's for them and as I can't use my existing ones as this will get the 2 new ones BANNED. I will have to buy the top ones which come in at over £360 pound to replace the 2.
Does anyone know of any other way to try and get this sorted as he wouldn't pass me through to anyone else as he was a supervisor and his managers didn't wan't to know and they won't take any phone calls off anyone.
So for all the people on LIVE please beware that if your HDD does break in any way what so ever.....just go and buy a new one, don't even chance putting someone else's in it or getting one on the cheap because it may end up costing you a lot more in the long run :(

That's completely bs that ms is doing this, if that happened to me i'd buy a plane ticket and throw my 360 through the window of corporate HQ. I'd call all the news crews to tape it and it would be a huge blow to microsoft. Then they would have to do something about all the consoles.
Though...i'm not prepared, and do i look like the violent type?

Anyway my guess is that they got a different console back and ms fudged the drive key. The process they use to replace their own drive doesn't work so now it's flagging the console.
These people wouldn't know anything about the different types of drives, they could have easily been switched durring repair.
There's going to be some sort of action against ms over there, that's for sure.

I won't be planning on replacing my xbox if it get's banned I don't think... not if there is a chance the legit one will be banned too. It's just all too closed and M$ essentially answer to nobody... .
So, my choices... well I hate $ony since they destroyed liksang, so that leaves the Wii, which I recently sold after realising I hadn't switched it on for almost a year... so nobody for me to switch to... gaming over... FAIL
PS - I am fine with a legit console being banned, infact, I think the words I will utter on Wednesday will be "Touché"... so this isn't a boo-hoo - I'm not even banned, it's a "if I can't trust them enough not to ban my new legit console, why bother buying one?"

Alright well just an update for some people with the new NXE dash. Today I was checking to see if I was banned or not with the new NXE. So I test xbox live and I recieve and update prompt. I click no and my new error code is z-8015-1000. If I click yes it just says that I cannont download the update. I also have the same y code as before. So im not sure what that's all about but hey im still legit.

I believe it's the Z Code and if it's all 0's you are alright,if it reads the 190d(Not Sure the Code) then you are banned.

His HDD had nothing to do with it. He can sure tell a story that's for sure.
He knows the HDD was from a MODDED BANNED 360? Funny. He is just trying to fool MS because his consoles are modded. Nothing less IMO.

BenQ v1.41 ixtreme firmware, just got banned this weekend. Here is my experience - I played fallout 3 weeks early, but I kept my xbox disconnected the whole time until after it was released. I HAVE played gears of war 2 and call of duty, but not until after they were released. I have played just about every good game in existence on my xbox, although they've all been checked with dvd mulleter. None of that may matter though, it seems there are a lot of people on this forum posting only playing a game or 2 and getting banned, some without even modded consoles getting banned.
The funny thing is, my terms of service violation says I have an account ban but it is definitely a console ban. No other accounts can log on mine, and I can use my account on other xboxes. I spoke with a microsoft agent this Sunday and they're supposed to get back to me, but during the conversation he did ask if I had modified my console so I'm assuming my error code lead him to believe that. My gamertag is Ethrael.

Has anyone strictly used Xbox Backup Creator and never download games online and still get banned? I'm beginning to think it's the bad files that people download instead of making copies themselves. This theory seems to be supported by all evidence.

i am beginning to think that its not the games anymore, i think they figured out a way to detect the FW but it backfired on them like someone else said flagging legit consoles that they repaired. i think it is too random for it to be games.

I only use xbox360 backup creator and have 10 or more UNBANNED consoles. Never copied a game I didn't own. I tried some sketchy stuff in the beginning but never completed.

I think you're right. Worst part about it is M$ don't care if they made a mistake. They just want to rake in the dough for the holiday season.

I am also noticing that certain countries where the banning is happening here in Canada all my freinds have modded 360 all 15 of them none of them have been banned.
