do any of u know which r better 4 burning wii games onto Taiyo Yuden dvd-r or verbatim dvd-r, every1 has heard of verbatim but i've only heard rumours that taiyo yuden is good. sorry 4 asking so many questions on this i just really want to make sure i'm buying the right thing.

I use Premium Tayio Yudens (do not buy value-line) and have had no issues.

Kinda noob ? I have done a 3.2U in the past, HBC, .3gamma channel, rev9, usbloader and the like.
I just got a virgin 3.4U. I had trouble installing HBC beta8 until I got 1.0.1 DOL and installation went OK. At this point all that is installed is HBC1.0.1. No other CIOS or WADS are installed.
?
I now want to install BackLoader .3 gamma. I read past posts about Oct23rd fixes, downgrades and the like. Is that process still required for 3.4U or can one just install latest CIOS rev10 (HBC/SD) and use WadManager 1.3 (HBC/SD) to install BUL.3G channel?
Any insight greatly appreciated...

There are 2 ways that the cIOS Installer gets the files it needs to use when installing the cIOS (So yes you need to run the cIOS Installer).
1) IOS36-64-v1042.wad (If you use this method place this wad in the root of the SD Card and run the cIOS Installer. Then choose WAD Install when it ask what option to use to get the files it needs).
2) Using the Network (Choose this option if you do not have the IOS36-64-v1042.wad file and the cIOS Installer will use the WiFi connection to get the files it needs).

there is a cIOS Installer that comes with backup launcher zip file. is it the same thing as IOS36-64-v1042.wad??? is it the same thing as installing cIOS Installer that came with backup launcher zip file???The cIOS Installer has a pic of sonic , and it doesnt say anything about IOS36-64-v1042.wad ... REPLY !!

Of course you need to run the 3.4 fix if the Wii is on 3.4 firmware. Why else would it be added to the guide?

There is no backup launcher zip file in this guide. So why ask question about it in the guide?
I have no idea what your talking about and since it isnt included in this guide pack start a new thread and ask there.
Everything will work perfectly fine if you just follow the steps I have given and use the files in the download pack.

Well now to what I want to ask. I just bought a Wii last week and bought the Internet Channel and Super Mario Galaxy. I thought about hacking the Wii, but I didn't research very well and just found complicated ways to hack it such as using a chip etc. I didn't find the Twilight Hack or anything of the sort, so when I went on the internet channel and was prompted if I wanted to update and if not turn my Wii off I decided for safety reasons to just go ahead and update. =S
Well a while after that I started doing a bit more research and found that you can downgrade to 3.2 from 3.3 and 3.4 >:\
Well to make a long story short, i have 4.0u now and i want to have the homebrew channel but I keep reading everywhere that 4.0 breaks the Twilight Hack and i just want to know if anybody other than Comex is working on a hack/exploit for us 4.0 virgin wii users.
I'm so mad at myself for not having researched better before going on and updating.

The wii games work fine. However Gamecube games just end up resetting the wii. Any reason why Gamecube games do not work and Wii games do? I've followed all instructions.

Larry.....I modded my wii on 3.4 but now i want to do my brothers. But he is on 3.3 I followed the tut (GBA)that you have a link to and i read the whole thing again. But how do i know if i have 3.3 october or 3.3 before the october fix? His wii says 3.3U And do i still need to do everything on 3.3 that i did for 3.4? Please help thanks!

ok i need some help i want to play my backup games but i cant ive got the HBC and ive instald IOS16.WAD, cIOS_249-rev6_rr.wad and backup launcher 0.3 gamma regionfrill.wad and when i try to use the cIOS installer it get to downloading part 15/15 anad then it comes up with failed -1017. i have also just tried to use the games on the back up launcher and it caome up with DVD error(324). im using TDK DVD+R disck and im on version 3.4e

any help would be appreciated thanx

Larry....Okay i modded the wii on 3.3 using your method. But i have another question.....Can i use wiigator on 3.3? I noticed the backup launcher is different then the one on my personal wii that is on 3.4 I have wiigator and the one that came in your pack for 3.3 is just called backup launcher. Can i install my apps and wads into my little brothers wii that is on 3.3? Thanks!

If your WiiGator is different then use the 1 that is now in the download. All the files in the download at this time are updated files.

Sorry to bump this into this thread but no one has anwsered my question in a previous thread, But
Dudes.....Please help....Zelda arrived today and everything went to plan putting the programs on the sd card, copying the twilight hack to the Wii system....BUT when i go through the accept prompts it came up with this error.

Then exits back to wii menu.
Do i need to update my firmware to 2.2e or even to the 3.x firmware to get twilight to install? If so what game would allow me to do so?

the files for it has 2 pages 3.3 and below and 3.4 it should work but maybe its not compatible with yours is there any way of u getting a borrowed/rented game ( not to recent) and upgrade to 3.x but 3.2 would be the best so u dont have problems with custom ios if its to 3.3 or 3.4 dont fear the guide shows u also how to fix

Try updating it with a game that has 3.2 firmware on it (as stated above 3.3 and 3.4 is alright to update also). Just do not update to 4.0 until after you have performed the steps for the cIOS36_rev10 then follow the 4.0 guide section that is if you want 4.0 firmware.

Cheers folks, i have a friend who has Mario Kart (PAL) which i have heard should prompt me to update to 3.1e. When i update to that firmware ill install twilight hack. is it then possible to download a torrent game with a 3.3 or 3.4 firmware on then do the necessary wiifix & 4.0 upgrade on the guide!!!

Hi every1,
im new here so excuse me if im a bit stupid....
i already installed the homebrew channel on my wii when i have firmware version 3.4 but did not know what to do next to play backup games... now i have realised what i have to do, however i have updated to v4.0!!!! without installing anything else. i just have the homebrew channel installed! is there any way i can still install the programs and play backup games???
