Thanks a lot for replying Larry :D

Yeah it probably is a PAL version because the site i got it from is from Spain, and it just said it was an english version of the game. Not NTSC or PAL.

And when i do that, when i force NTSC the screen turns black and in white words it says Disc error occurred. Please eject disc and power off. And some stuff about reading the manual, basically what it says when you try to run a backup on the original disc loader.

Oh man im screwed :(

You can try 1 more thing. Try loading the Backup Launcher again pressing 1 again till you get to the Options page. When you get there press B on the Wiimote which will reboot your Wii with hooks enabled. Now try playing the game via the regular disc channel.

I tried doing that with and without the game inside the Drive and as soon as i press B it shows me a green screen for a millisecond and then it just shows me a plain black screen, and nothing happens.

EDIT: Does it matter that i have my GC memory cards inserted and my GC controller?

No the GC stuff shouldn't matter. This is a region issue. Your best bet is to find a NTSC(U) version of the game.

The cut scenes and intro video lagging/jumping is normal when using the Backup launcher. It reads at 3X not the normal 6X speed the disc channel uses.

Also next time you have an issue like this could you start your own thread so we don't get this thread cluttered up with post that do not pertain to the guide.

Why don't you read the guide and find out.

It really depends on what firmware you have on the system. So find out what firmware you have and following the corresponding sections to find out if you need to use the WiFi connection.

LARRY i'm really hoping you can pull me outta the s**t here AGAIN

but i follow your guide above and then went to the link to do the fix but when i choose to instal the "cIOS_Fix.wad". it just says failed, the guide says use custom manager but i couldn't find this so it then says just use wad manager which i did. Now maybe this is because i never updated to the newest version but thaty was cause you said don't as it is now 4.0 i am currently on 3.3e and i didn't know whether i was on the pre or post 23rd oct update but when the zelda hack never worked and then the wads never installed then i assumed i was post 23rd oct. please please give me some advise, i am not an expert but i have already done this to a 3.1e system but now my brother wants his done

thanks in advance anyone who can help

Nice one Larry , 100% success! One query....my system was already firmware 4.00, followed the guide link to yafaze.com, downloaded and ran the pack, returned to your guide and installed wiigator. I now have 2 back up channels, one from your guide and one from yafaze, is that right?...Doesn't realy matter as both work. Also just wondering if I need to run iosdowngrader to get trucha patched. All the backups I've tried so far work so do I need to do this? Cheers for all the help.

You only need 1 of the WiiGator Launchers.

If you want to run trucha signed disc then use the IOS Downgrader. If you will not then don't.

I know where I went wrong....during the yafaze guide you install IOS36.wad, BUL3g.wad & HBC.wad....didn't realise that BUL3g.wad was wiigator. Do you think it will cause any problems if I leave them both on? I can't see it. As for trucha, not entirely sure if I will need it or not. From what I can gather it's to do with region free, but I think I'll be sticking to my own region...PAL. Totally stoked with it as it is...thanks once again

I was on firmware version 4.00, followed the linked guide (I got 2 back up channels as well....lol), all working perfectly. Just wondering If I have to do any of the further steps:

1.Install IOS60.wad using Wad Manager (from either HBC or the same way you booted it during guide) http://www.yafaze.com/wii/files/IOS60.rar

2.Install CIOSv10 Using HBC http://www.yafaze.com/wii/files/ciosrev10installer.rar

3.Run IOSdowngrader using HBC http://www.teknoconsolas.tv/wanin/IOS-Downgrader_v1.zip (You'll still be on 4.0 but all will be trucha patched)

Obviously, step 2 is covered by your guide, step 3 covered by the previous posts....just wondering about step 1.

Thanks for all your hard work Larry.

Not entirely sure what you mean by this part:

Things to Delete:

cIOS36_rev9
cMIOS_rev3
boot.dol
bannerbomb exploit (this is the private folder). Make sure you delete this folder before transferring over any backup private folder.

I didn't delete anything once I was done....will there be any issues?

1) yes install IOS60.WAD. It patches IOS60 so (added SD Card feature can be used).

2) Installing cIOS36_rev10 is up to you. I prefer sticking with rev9 because I have had some issues with rev10.

3) You do not need to do this step unless you want to use trucha signed backups on your system. If you don't know what trucha signed is then more then likely you don't need to downgrade the IOS's.

As for the above post with what to delete. You should at least delete the private folder that had the bannerbomb exploit so it doesn't mess with GameSaves or VC/WiiWare games that have been moved to the SD card.

Thank you sooo much.

To job larry, worked a treat for me although there was an extra step not mentioned (or me no understand). After you launch the wad manager it asks which IOS you want to use. There is about 20 to choose from (7 up to 249). Did I correctly assume 249? WiigatorGamma.wad installed after this step and it works fine. Thanks.

Wow! Thank you for your indepth guide :) Just a query before I do it...
Being the complete wombat newbie...before I found this guide I installed the homebrew channel and didn't realise apps were needed to enable using backup discs. So I deleted the hack, the channel, and formatted the wii....is there other steps I need to take before starting over again using your guide?

Many thanks for your help in advance....for complete non techhies like me this guide is brilliant :)
