Larry......Followed your guide for the 11th time and when i did my cousins wii yesterday i got "wii system files corrupted" i reset the will and the warning screen came on then the main screen came on (channel page) and everything looks normal. I launched a backup copy (dvd-r not usb) and it worked fine but i forgot to play an original game. The wii is gone now and my cousin didnt see the "wii system files corrupted" warning screen, only i did. What do you think went bad if anything or was it a glich? This is the first time it has happend to me......The wii was on firmware 3.2 I installed the homebrew channel, backup launcher channel, usb channel and the iso dumper channel (all wads of course using the wad manager inside the homebrew channel that i downloaded from the first page of this thread). Any ideas on the error? Could it cause future problems? What do you think? Thanks!
Im new, so bear with me!

I have never had that happen to me but if the Wii is working properly now I wouldn't worry about it.
@obieone
If you don't have the HBC installed then start at the beginning of the guide.

Just 4 questions:
1.) I dont need Twilight Princess to install the HBC, just an SD Card and the files supplied?
2.)IOS36-64-v1042.wad- I downloaded it, put it into the root folder, can I put it on the SD card before I install the HBC or will that mess it up??
3.)WiiGatorGamma is the best backup launcher at this moment in time?
4.)This will DEFINETLY work with ver. 3.1E??
Sorry if these are answered in the guide, but I just want to be sure..

I got HBC installed without any problems but none of the apps on my SD card show up, I just get the blank bubble screen. They're under /apps/, are named boot.dol, have a valid PNG file and a meta.xml.
The root of my SD card is empty. Do I need to have the HBC boot.dol/elf file there to get it recognize my apps?

Hey, I have a 4.0u Wii that was previously softmodded using the Twighlight Hack (it still has the hack), but my Homebrew Channel was accidetnly deleted.Now I have to use the BannerBomb method of softmodding my Wii to re-install the Homebrew Channel since I updated my Wii to 4.0. I was wondering if performing the BannerBomb softmod on my Wii with the Twighlight Hack still effective is safe to do. If not, is there any other way of deleting all traces of the previous Twighlight Hack from my Wii that does not involve using an application through the Homebrew Channel? Thanks.

If you have HBC 1.0.2 (I think that is the new one) it has issues with SDHC memory sticks. So either uninstall the newer HBC version back to 1.0.1 or use a non-secure SD Card.
If you have HBC 1.0.1 then try formating the Memory Stick and transfer the files back over.
@caliryder
You don't install the Twilight Princess hack. It is just ran via a game save hack. Just use the bannerbomb exploit to install the HBC.

larrylje: Thanks, I'll revert to 1.0.1, I think 1.0.2 is what came with Bootmii and I'm using an SDHC card.

Hi,
Now downloaded the Softmod pack, and it's not extracting to folders, they are all individual files, most of which have duplicates fr the same version, so when I try and drag it on to my SD card it's coming up with 'do you want to overwrite......' as there's duplicate files....
help please....any ideas?! I did overight them to the newest files and tried the first few steps on the wii to the letter, but it doesnt recognise anything and just has empty boxes whilst looking at the sd card??

Larry, I should have asked this in my previous post, but what's the best way to revert back to 1.0.1? Put the HBC 1.0.1 binary in root and run bannerbomb again and that will overwrite the old version of HBC?

I am not 100% sure but I would guess you could uninstall HBC 1.0.2 in data management on the Wii. Then install HBC 1.0.1 with bannerbomb. The issue is I haven't installed bootmii yet so you might want to go to their forum and ask if the steps above are correct (make sure 1.0.2 can be deleted and 1.0.1 can be used with bootmii)

I just went ahead and dug out an old 32MB SD card to finish up installing Backup Loader and the other system files that needed patching. Thanks for your help, I have no idea if this actually works for playing backups or not yet.

Oh, so I was just RUNNING the game save and not actually installing it! Okay, now I get it. So I'll just us the BannerBomb exploit to reinstall the Homebrew Channel and see how it works out. Thanks for the help, larry.

Press 1 when launching the loader so the options menu comes up. Then select FORCE NTSC and boot the game.

I didn't notice the games you are playing. Not all games are import compatible. Download the NTSC(U) version of the game.
