Yes just choose the force NTSC option in neogamma, be careful not to update the wii with a NTSC disc though.

I think the general idea is that if you got your wii after november 2008 then it wont install bootmii to boot2 it has to install as IOS. If this is the case i suggest using preloader aswell as bootmii. This is due to nintendo physically changing something on the wii (if someone knows any better and i am wrong please correct me)

I got my wii 2 years ago
Its goo to go
I think somthing went wrong
Ill try setting it up again
I just want to make sure i can restore files should my wii get bricked !!!!

Hi there,

This was my first time at something like this but, I just Softmodded my Wii with your guide and found it so easy!!!!

Everything installed as directed in the instructions.
Then i did some research on backing up my games...

I have backed up super paperr mario using RawDump 2.0 & Nero 8. I have a compatible LG drive to read it (ROM only) but the burner is not compatible to read. I used Sony DVD-R at both 4x and 8x. My problem is that i get a big black line (same as if your frequency is set wrong) in the middle of the screen that splits the game and makes it unplayable - otherwise the game runs fine.

Fixes???
1. Do i need to get Verbatim Discs and burn at 2x??
2. Do i need to get a compatible burner (one that can read through raw dump 2.0)?
3. Am i missing something???

I took 1 read and 10 min later i was backing up to my external drive
Perfect !!!!!! I don't see why people are having problems - just follow the guide
Thanks again
What kind of hard drive do you have? I'm having trouble with my hard drive being read and I don't want to buy another one unless I know other people have had success.

I have installed HBC on a 3.3 through twilight hack. The next step i took was to install cios36rev7. but it failed got the 2011 error. So of course no wads are working they are getting same error. I didnt run downgrade ios35, is it too late to do that then run cios36rev7 again? Or can i run downgrade ios35 then run rev12. I need to get rid of this 2011 error. Please help

I got an idea. How about following the guide. If you don't want to then start another thread to post your questions.

Uh sorry, it was my bad, i used Nero instead of using ImageBurner, i think that was the problem, becuse everything works now like a charm. So anyway: this guide was awesome, and you know what guys? I think i understood how the system works. I mean what is a wad file n stuff, so now i'm thingkin about installing some more channels, like dvd player etc... : ))) So thanks again, larrylje!

A few days ago I bought a new wii and followed this guide 100% to get HBC installed. I have since added a 500 gig USB drive and use Gamma loader GX and have made back up copies of all my games and can easily play them from the drive.

First of all, thanks for the wonderful guide. It was quite painless to use and very clear.

I wanted to add some brick protection to the wii, but notice in this guide you hold off on installing BootMii due to possible conflicts installing IOS files. Is it OK for me to try to install the BootMii now, or is there any danger of it? I'd like to make a few backups of my NAND file.

Anything else you you think I should do for safety sake?

Thanks again.

seriously?!? What part of Gamecube says SNES to you?? They may both have an "E" in the name, but other than that that's it! If you take the time to do a little research you'll find that they have absolutely nothing to do with each other as far as the wii is concerned. Also, this should have been asked in a separate thread since it has absolutely nothing to do with the softmodding process. The one bit of help that I'll throw you on this is that you need do do a search for wii emulators. Make a fresh thread ... you'll get a better response. "hijacking" others threads with off topic posts is against forum fules and takes place way too often.

How about asking USB Loader GX questions in the USB Loader GX thread. That is why I made it separate.

Hi larrylje/all,

Looks like when I started to follow your guide and the first step was to upgrade the wii, I received 4.1J from the nintendo servers. Will this guide still work?

I have the first generation wiikey installed on my japanese wii.

thanks

I can't get pass the HBC Step. My system seems to lock-up after inserting the SC card. I have only one brand SD Card available now Kingston 256MB. Could that be my problem?

After this is all said and done Does a guy still need to install the Hardware IE WiiKey....
