Thanks Hooter, the download worked fine, the box did stop once showing some mixed pixels on the screen, but i turned it off then back on fine.

Then seems fine, see how the fatherinlaw gets on with it.

Quick question, I have a Starview The Box Super and Starview SP6019793. Could I get any of these to work?

Do you know what code the firmware is written in? i previously did some programming.

Thanks
Kenneth

not in dublin on n*l for them boxes,
but if you done some programming have a talk with both mickah and sc0user they could probably tell you more about what code the firmware is written in, way over my head in that part dont forget about us little people if you do come up with a fix for other boxes.
all the best

Unless you have the source code, for the boxes you dont have a chance in hell, of getting anything to work, and getting that well, lets say ya wont.

If you have the code, know the language it might be possible as with some languages to get a de-coding software to see the original code.

i know they protect there source code with there lives (manufactureres) but when people make up clone boxes does that not meen they found the source code,
or can you make a clone box without the source code?

clones are just a copy of original box, made with cheaper materials normally of inferior quality,

I believe they need to supply the source code, like the fruit machine codes that are clones and people make emulators for them "www.fruit-emu.co.uk" is a typical site for the fruit machines

Try menu 1570 and turn the EMU on, if its still scrambled after that, put it in the bin with all the other older starviews.

Problem is they're not worth much 2nd hand,it'd barely cover the cost of post & packaging.
