there is nothing on the page about euro vox max red lastest firmware or the box firmware my dad has the box 4 usb its ok

This page shows you what boxes in Ireland are working at the moment, gives you the firmware for the boxes and websites to buy them from, so if there is no mention of software for eurovox red or starview 1/2/3 that probably means that there is no fix for them.

Hi everyone, I've flicked through this whole thread lol!...
Basically I have a starview 4 box- was extremely easy to setup and get going. Works OK, a couple of issues though- firstly the EPG(TV guide) really sucks, and second the USB is yet to be stable.
So i'm basically after a new, better box-am in the UK. Mainly want a good EPG with it- oh, and don't want a box thats impossible to setup lol- and i guess the price range am looking at is probably under £100.
from what i've read here i think Kryptview boxes are the way forwards? Any advice on boxes etc, would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced, Tony.

think ya answered your own question Tony, the krypt is the better box in terms of pic, support, set up and use, one of the few to give you trouble
But,
If you are in the UK, dont use the latest firmware for the Starview 4, thats for Ireland for the N2 issue, use version 1.09 for the UK, this will fix the EPG and recording function on the SV, its more compatible with N1 which you are using over there.

Hi -
I was reading through the many threads on the kv update flash from 12/7/09. not seen any answers to my query - so here goes.
I have had one of these kv boxes a while (april) - successfully did the 19/3/09 update - from new installation. all works perfectly.
couple of quick questions:
1. the latest update from 12/7/09 - is it actually worth doing?
2. on the instructions (downloaded from 4shared) it states how to do to flash kv - but its seems that its from a brand new box - rather than an update box point of view. does that make sense.
Do you have to factory reset the box before you can update?
I mean - how do you get the 4 green 0000 on the display otherwise?
I've tried following the instructions - but it simply won't play ball - the only thing i can see that is different is the display at the start - i have 4 ---- rather than 4 0000
Any ideas?

After you put the new update on it, the box will revert back to new state, ie no channels on it.

Are you in the Uk or Ireland ??
if ireland and you are on N$$ it wont work here
if in Uk you need to put V1341 on it with the downloader 10

tried that thanks - but just get a pause - then download wasn't started and back to beginning. Not sure what is going on.
So you don't have to do a factory reset or anything first (i haven't). I am starting from the point where the box is working lovely - all channels etc - just want to update the firmware.
Luckily - the remote is working pretty much ok - so i'll just hang on that and leave it me thinks.
FYI - In dub coorrusss area - but that shouldn't matter. Flashed the kv first time round in minutes, not a bother.

sorry one other thing.
If another new update comes out for KV (for example today) - would you need to load 12/7/09 first, then the next one - or can you just jump to the latest?
If so - then i may prevail with the 12/7/9 version - just so i am sorted for the next update as and when / if it comes

Hi again
I thought what the heck I'll have another go - set it all up as before, waiting 3 seconds on the switch - and hey presto - away it went.
All updated and sorted. Very odd it didn't work before - i didn't do anything different (apart from the 3 second rule). Didnt' work this morning - but all good now.
It has made sod all difference to the remote that i can tell - so maybe i have one as good as it gets.
Thanks for the help all the same - time appreciated.

you can flash any firmware regardless of the date, it will overwrite the existing one

got my kyrptview working great so far,thanks to mickah for step by step guide for setting it up and all those who help me choose kryptview im very happy with it.one question can i get two tv,s off the one kryptview with a two way splitter it so which is the best splitter to get.thanks

its thanks to Hi Teck for the guide...
you can split the cable before it goes into the box and run it to another TV, but, if you are looking to watch the same chan, you need a video sender or another box for the other room

Why after doing an auto scan on my Kyrptview box it wont
pick up the new ESPN uk channel im in Ireland please help
im a UFC fanatic and cracking up as 101 is on this Saturday
please help!!!!!
