There is only 1 WAD listed ?CIOS60BF.wad? so install it.

After it has installed press home.

Exit out of the Homebrew Channel.

The Wii System will now have a ?SYSTEM DATA IS CORRUPT" error message but do not worry.

Step 8: Turn off the Wii System. Turn it on then hold the reset button to launch into Preloader.

When the Preloader menu comes up go to ?Launch the Hombrew Channel? in the menu list.

Now go to Preloader .29 Installer and install it again.

After it reboots you System Menu should come up as normal and you are finished with the guide.

After following the instructions and reinstalling the preloader .29. All I get is the same screen ?SYSTEM DATA IS CORRUPT" and it is all jumbled up in the main window. I can hold the reset and go to the HBC but no systemmenu. What happened? Is this fixable?

I had a similar issue. But yours may be something different. First, which system menu are you on? Did you update to 4.0/4.1? Second do you have a LU64+ wii? If you have system menu 3.4, just reinstall system menu 3.4 (using NUS downloader and WAD manager). Otherwise I would try reinstalling preloader .29 again and see if it works. Or use NUS downloader and WAD manager to install whichever system menu you had initially and go from there.
At least that is my 2 cents

Just done that and restarted the process from the beginning. Im now trying preloader .29 again and it is saying:

Failed to get root, CURRENT IOS(36) HAS THE FAKESIGN BUG FIXED.

Ive obviously done something wrong, or missed something from the SD card. Im sure ive followed it by the book.

Any clues Mr Larry? Sorry for being a pain!

Did you reinstall preloader .29 again?

Did you reinstall preloader .29 again?

and what system menu are you running? If you didn't update to 4.0/4.1 or downgrade to 3.2, preloader will not work and has a chance of a semi-brick (if I understand things right). If that is the case, simply reinstall system menu 3.2 from WAD manager (use preloader to get into hbc) and it should solve your issue.
With reguards to the "menu isn't popping up" I imagine it means you installed preloader .29 but no menu popped up. Hold the reset button as you power it up and see if that helps.

They are probably getting the Wii system menu is corrupt error. Which happens after you install CIOS60BF.wad file. To fix this issue you need to re-install preloader .29 again.

So to verify: you power it off (hold the power button for 5 seconds or so), then press and HOLD the reset button and press the power button and it just loads up to say that it is corrupt?
You say you have an LU59, did you install bootmii as a boot2? And if so, did you do a NAND backup? You can probably recover from that IF you did.

Looking back in the last few post of this guide it seems that some are having the same issue as you.

Try this and see if it helps.

You should be able to get into Preloader by turning off the system. Then hold the reset button down while turning the Wii on. This will let you launch Homebrew Channel from the Preloader list to start the guide over again.

Follow the guide again starting at Step 2: Run AnyRegionChanger 1.1 M5. This will downgrade to 3.2 firmware again.

After downgrading to 3.2 firmware you should install Bootmii and backup your NAND.

Now do Step 3: Update to 4.1 firmware using the normal Wii System update in Settings.

When you get to Step4: skip it. Instead do the below step.

Download this file HERE. Extarct it and place the IOS60 Patcher folder in the apps folder of your SD card.

Now start the Homebrew Channel and start the IOS60 Patcher that should be in the Homebrew Channel list.

At the first prompt, it will ask you if you want to install IOS61. Press "B", to Deny.

At the second prompt, it will ask you if you want to install IOS60. Press "A", to Confirm.

At the third prompt, it will ask you if you want to patch IOS60. Press "A", to Confirm.

At the last prompt, it wil ask you if you want to install the latest Shop Channel. Press "B", to Deny.

After you run that you can then start folowing the guide again at Step 5: Run Preloader .29 (Launch it using HBC).

Hopfully this will fix your issue.

Let me know if it does so I can then edit the guide.

I've just about run out of options. Here's the scoop.. I can't load games in the disc channel. (dun dun)

Some tid bits here.. I have two Wiis. One with 4.1U (guides found here) and another with the last revised version of SoftMii on a 3.2U Wii. Both of the Wiis are original debut Wiis, boot2 bootmii access.

The 3.2U Wii loads games just fine, so it confirms that my disc integrity is OK. Loads games via loader and channel.

The 4.1U Wii loads games via USB and NeoGamma only. I've installed and reinstalled this guide numerous times, and still fail to get the discs to recognize in the Disc Channel. I can get through this guide with zero errors. I've tried all the alternatives listed in this thread thus far, and still.. no go.

Any suggestions would be excellent!

You either need to make space on your SD card or reformat it with the official SD card formatter. If its starting and not finishing, its probably running out of room.

I ended up fixing this by installing the *new* cIOSCorp v3.1 instead of the one in this pack.

And you tried to reformat the SD card, too? It could have a bad spot on it that needs to be dealt with. If you're on a Windows box, use this to format it http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/ -- don't just use the weak Windows Format option. If you're on a Mac, you can simply use its proprietary application.

If that doesn't work, you should probably make sure your card is on the list. http://wiibrew.org/wiki/BootMii/SD_Card_Compatibility_List (Even though, Kingston 2gb is on that list, I've heard numerous reports of them being very anal with BootMii.)

Lastly, is BootMii finding any bad sectors JUST before it freezes?

On a side note, Preloader is rather idiot-proof in the self-bricking department.

This is probably a stupid question, but how much free space do you have on your SD card? I believe you need roughly 700 MB of free space to do a NAND backup.

Could you please let me know if my Wii a full brick or semi brick and is there a way to correct this.

Thanks in advance.

Are you keeping the reset pressed down while the system boots?
