Did you try going to the chickhen Photo folder and scroll down to the last file as fast as possible? it should work, but then i don't have a japanese psp version tho.
Try getting the version i used:

I got homebrew by using chickhen and cfw enable on my psp of 4.? non-hackable psp slim piano black without any problem.
Once you get it to played backup games, it gets boring, so i'd sold my psp.
I forgot to tell it's a PHAT/FAT psp. And i've tried versions of chickhen with various images, and ones with just the .tiff file.
still i haven't got it to work. HALP HALP HALP!

hey i found a fix, mine was to change the name of this folder "PSP/PHOTO/ChickHEN" to "PSP/PHOTO/FAT"

Okayyy i found out the problem, i had to set the character settings to US. Now im running 5.00 M33-6 but.....
I CAN'T LOAD ISO's!!!!!!!
i tried 2 cso's and they work pefectly fine (patapon & luxor)
then i tried yugioh tagforce 3 and Disgaea, and not even the image shows up on the psp game menu...
i tried the fastloader 7, no success.
Booted in recovery mode to set homebrew to kernel 1.50 and enabled plain UMD/ISO.
Still nothing. Also tried compressing the ISO to CSO but it just starts, stays on the "now loading" screen...
any ideas? thanks alot (i'm the one with a FAT/PINK/JAP psp)

Hy everybody
I have PSP 3004 with OFW 4.21 and motherboard TA-090 V2
I was upgrade OFW to 5.03 with EBOOT.PBP (26Mb)
After that I was load ChickHen R2 with 7 pics and put H.BIN (30kb)into ROOT of my memory card.
After success chickHen my PSP, how to upgrade CFW in and which part?
(My PSP is now ChickHen enabled)

I hear this version of motherboard Ta-090 v2 is not may hack, beceause it is good protect of Sony , and 99% to may be bricked after update CFW 5.03 or 5.50.
Help me if somebody knows beter then me.

Should not be afraid to put CFW 3.60 in PSP 3004 with motherboard TA-090 v2 because I tried it and works 100%
just need to follow the instructions from this page

Hey ppls...i was wondering how many times it takes for ChickHen to load..mine has yet to load and im losing hope after 50 tries....my psp freezes right after pressing pictures/memory stick...i cant even get to the thumbnails cause it freezes at the Chickhen file....
im using Phat psp,Us character,v.5.03,formated stick,defult settings..
any help??...ive tried both Chichen r2 with many images and the single .tiff one...nth works....i seriously need help =(

Experiencing similar:
have PSP phat (1003) with v3.9
Went through the steps above...
I updated to v5.3,
Then ran chickHEN and confirmed that it was installed.
Then installed 5.00 M33-6 and changed UMD iso to M33 driver.
Formatted memory stick.
I copy the game with .iso extention into a new folder i created named "ISO".
When I disconnect my PSP from my PC, and go GAME > MEMORY STICK, it says "There are no games". I have tried two different games with the same result.
It initially did not work, as I had WinRAR associated with .iso file extentions. Sorted this out, thinking it would resolve this "there are no games" message, but no luck.
Anyone know what i am doing wrong?

I have managed to get it to show the games (no longer says "There are no games") however:
1) when using a .cso game:
It loads a black screen (looks like the game wants to start)
2) When using an .iso game:
It returns error 80020148
which seems to mean according to another site:
PRX type unsupported - Explanation: This error comes up when you try to use emulators, homebrew, etc. on a psp with version 1.52 and higher.

I need some help have gotten up to the chickHEN R2 on my sons phat PSP and the screen has gone red but doesnt reload I have to take the battery out to turn PSP off

Hello All,
I have a PSP-Brite ( 3004)OFW 5.01
After reading for 2-3 days I now know its Partially Hackable with Chicken+CFW Enabler
So, I have upgraded to
OFW 5.03
+
Chicken enabled ( after a dozen attempts phew..!)
..
Now, I have CFWE 3.6 & I also have a M33.6 CFW Eboot file.
But, The CFWE does not enable any CFW !! :(
< My System Info reads : 5.03 ChickHEN ... i.e. chickHEN is fine >
Could some one please elaborate the process of CFWE i.e. what to do with the "popsloader"
basically how to get to CFW from ChickHEN 5.03 on a PSP 3000

i dont have a pandora battery i got it hacked from the market.
which method should i use to upgrade to CFW 5.50.
i also need a AVI player for my psp...help me i am not able to start any....

hi all, i had my first generation psp 1001 hacked by using PSPgaman's guide, i update it to 5.03 and has enabler v3.60, the ChickHen R2 i am using is "Classic psp 1000". it has 1 picture call "eggsploit" and 4 pictures call "ChickHENa,ChickHENb,ChickHENc,ChickHENd", am i using right ChickHEN? it had been freeze and rest few times, but no flashed screen,on the system info, it only appear 5.03 without ChickHen R2, seems like can't get it to work. I tried put iso game into psp/game, but it won't load and says no data......or corrupted. any comments

Attn all that are having troubles:
psp2000/3000
psp1000
These are videos that show step-by-step on how to mod using the aforementioned process (at the beginning of this thread) - for phat psps and slim psps.. If you're having issues installing chickHEN or completing the process/finalizing settings as per this forum - try the videos. Good luck to you all.

ok here is my problem.
i think i made my own pandora battery. when i put it in by it self the green light turns on. now i went to youtube and looked up some guides but cant find one that works every time i do it the screen is just blank and the thing does not pop up. i cant figure this out. please post on here or email me at oxiejames@sbcglobal.net

yea when i try to load the chickHEN i go down to the last image i dont enter it i just wait at the last image then the sreen goes red and just stays there please tell me what to do different or what i can do to fix it

i have psp 2004 and came with OFW 3.7x i dont know about its motherboard.i got it hacked using pandora battery to CFW4.01.now in order to upgrade it to CFW 5.50 what are the steps i should follow will that update be permanent?
and also tell me a .avi file player for psp so that all downloaded movies can be played directly..

I have an old school Dark Alex/Pandora Battery mod on a fat black PSP. i do not kow which version it is or what motherboard it is, however when I removed the battery it says PSP 1001. When I check to see if I have <5.03, my PSP says 3.40 OE-A. Per your guide you state ,"If the version is 5.03 , skip this part and follow the guide below to install ChickHEN . If you have a lower version follow this GUIDE in order to install OFW 5.03."
First question is my PSP hackable?
Second I know 3.40 is less than 5.03 as numbers go but, is this what you mean by version being <5.03?
If so, after I follow the 4 steps to download, connect, copy .eboot, and run, what which step comes next? Oh, when you say Run the update from your PSP, how do you Run it?
After that which step comes next..
b) Loading Chickhen r2? or some other title down on the page?

I am thinking that means you already have a custom firmware version of
3.40 OE-A.
Where did you get your psp?

I bought it a long time a go. I followed a tutorial a few years back on how to make a pandora's battery and how to install CFW back then.
Ok update on what i have done so far. I followed the instructions on how to add 5.03. I am still wondering how to run it. I went to my memory chip on the psp menu under games and saw an icon saying 5.03. I pressed X and I think (ran) it. the looked like it rebooted but gave me an error message saying "The game could not be started (DADADADA)" what does that mean?
The I followed the instructions for "FOR CLASSIC PSP ( 1000 )" figuring I have a PSP 1001 it would work. I follwed the following instructions "Navigate to your PHOTOS folder , and enter the ChickHEN folder. And wait, you will see some images, these will start to load thumbnails.Go all the way down to the last image. Your PSP may freeze and reset." After following the insructions my PSP froze BUT it froze when I open the chickHEN folder. It did not allow me to scroll down to the bottom of the images. It freezes on the first image and shuts down. I can not get past the first image without it freezeing and shitting off. Any ideas on what I need to do. Remember I have an old MOD going way back to almost the first MOD. Is this the problem?
