This is garbage. I have seen plenty of people post who never install games to HD and got banned. There is no trend, there is no X-factor. Despite C4eva's insistence his perfect firmware is undetectable, I'm beginning to believe MS has check-mated all of us. Oh well it was a good run. And as for ZoLRaK, go shout your whining threats to your mom and ask her to buy you a new PS3 or Xbox or whatever you want, nobody here cares.

IDK if this has been mentioned in here, and it may be common knowledge for some, but I can say with a good probability this is why most of the people who claimed to have been squeaky clean have been getting banned. C4eva (sp?) said that the firmware is undetectable, and I believe it 100%.
Someone mentioned that one of the victims of a previous ban wave had said something about re-verifying games after burning them. I'm sure most people are like me and assume that passing through ABG once before burning is enough, and then they never check it again. I fell into this trap. I took a random sample of games lying around, and I found that 5 of the games verified and checked out 100% after burning, and 8 of them did not pass the verification (2 of them incurred errors and wouldn't even load up in ABG). I found this to be appalling, because they all checked out 100% before burning.
So my little experiment to everyone who was banned and never did anything like play a corrupt game or play a game before release, go back and see if they pass verification through ABG. I'm willing to bet that there will be at least one game that does not pass.

yep I got banned today 10 november just when call of duty comes out.
Now the newest games i was playing was dirt 2 and forza motor sports 3.
Im thinking the other day I was playing dirt 2 it said clean disc I think that could of let it off. so then I burnt another copy and installed to hard drive. dunno maybe something to do with that?
All my games I have ripped myself none been downloaded or before the release date?
anyone else got banned today??
So Im going to trade my xbox or something will I be able to use my same account or make a new one?

yep I got banned today 10 november just when call of duty comes out.
Me too, man, me too. I was actually just working the midnight release at my store and ended up buying a copy for both me and my brother. I've never played a game early and most games I already have are Wave 2 or Wave 3, so abgx360 can stealth patch them either way.
When I got home about 1hr ago, turned on my 360, tried to sign in and couldn't and just got a message saying I got banned. This sucks! :( Only have had my 360 flashed for about 2 months too!

Taking into consideration all the posts I've read about this topic, the Bans seem to point more towards Microsoft being able to detect Modified Firmware rather than the Patched games.
I haven't read it myself but a mate sent me a text message claiming that C4EVA (alleged developer of Ixtreme) used a Control machine, a brand new 360, (modded firmware but never had a Disc inserted) and along with other new machines playing Copies, all were banned at the same time.
If thats true then my money is on firmware detection made possible from latest Update (2 weeks ago roughly I think).

ok mate um.. so I was thinking of buying xbox tommorow getting it flashed. you think I should hold of for a while.
So we know that it cant be the games its more then likely it the firmware. I had 1.51 on mine.
sounds like this is a big hit for Microsoft. I wonder if they can get better firmware soon ?

I have read many frustrated posts from people who just did what you are suggesting doing and got banned before they were able to put a disc in their drive. Buy a new box if you like, but for god's sake do not flash it yet. C4eva is working on a new firmware that may or may not solve this banning problem, but if you throw even the newest 1.61 firmware on any 360 you're just asking to get banned. I, myself am laying low and waiting for some answers and promising results before I go near live. I already have 1 console banned and another that I've left offline specifically so I don't get it banned.

I've been on the phone to them today and basically got told dont use another console it'll be banned in 7 days if you mod it. They must have had a breakthrough although i have a log of traffic so when i've gonethrough it i might be able to find what they do exactly but i'm not betting on it. So i'll still use console not use live oh well i'll live with mates round and beer to play games. I can still play games early and who looses out Microshat. Oh yes if i liked the game i did buy it. But most games are rubbish only a few are worth buying.

hey jus got banned today iv been to scared to go live with my 360 elite so i fixed my broken 1 which had e 74 error not been on live with this xbox for about 2 mounths signed into xbox live with it straight away said this xbox is banned didnt have any game in it, never played early realeases on this xbox and not played any game on it atall for 2 mounths always cheacked games with abgx was flashed with iextream 1.51 {samsung drive} just thought it might help sum one

dont throw in the towel yet my fellow banned soldier, we will overcome this banwave just use xlink kai its not much now but its growing and if all of the banned people jump to kai then it will become just as useful as xbox live.

i believe they gained the ability to CRC check the firmware on both the xbox and the hdd attached to it... that is why the banwave is so extensive.
there is no other way to explain why so many people got hit this time. also c4 has basically admitted it by saying he can launch a new FW to stop the bans... obviously implying that the previous firmware was, in some way or another, detectable. if it wasn't detectable *whatsoever* then why would he need to announce any new FW ??

well im a video game programmer..i dont do alot of online coding though..but if i was to guess it doesnt have to do with the dashboard and actually the source could actually help alot more than just keeping us from getting banned..think about it..supposedly the only way to dump the lite-ons are with probes and bridging..correct? well then how are they able to tell that those drives have a different firmware with just a sata port and an internet connection???? i have 2 explanations... a backdoor protocol injected into the iso that agbx360 cant pick up, or.. they have found a way to dump the info via live with the sata port on the xbox...which if it is the second one could actually mean good things..means there is another way to dump that drive. but i am guessing its the 1st one..think about it..you download a game..all of a sudden ur banned after playing it.
Though they play an important role in the early stage, the techniques should not be too mechanical, complex or restrictive. If we cling blindly to them, we shall eventually become bound by their limitations.

People should know that when they first mod their drive; doesn't mean you're safe from anything, you put yourself more at risk to get banned. My buddy got banned, and he never played games early. And I got banned for the second time, but I knew it was coming, cause I played mw2 early, and really... I don't care, it's not that hard to get a new box!
And don't go buying a new box. Not cause the profit will go to M$, but that the new drives are unmoddable! So unless you plan on modding your box again, best bet is to buy used!
Again, you were banned cause you modded the 360! Simple as that!

i install every single one of the games i play, to save my dvd laser. i haven't been banned yet.

once you have flashed a liteon with ixtreme then the next time you want to update fw you dont need to use the probe to read the fw so that why MS wouldnt need to worry about that

mate wat r u on about?, thats the most perfetic post ive ever seen, im banned too so wat, ive downloaded over 30 of the latest game and others have probably downloaded way more, so any dumb idiot could workout how much they have saved when i can go to gamestation and get another for 90 pounds, the price of 2 games, plus the console isnt uselesss because i can play any games without worry and play early releases on the banned one, my only worry is now that im banned will this mean they watch to make sure i dont do it again, cuz ive heard a few people say they have 3 modded 360 and all got banned, wich makes me wonder if because they banned one they double checked the others, so now im worried to flash another one, also your gamertag and achievements should all be fine on a unbanned 360 but only the ones before the ban i was told you just have to recover it on a unban 360 and the hard drive should be fine too, dont get me wrong mate im am a bit gutted but oh well shit happens, WE ALL KNOW THE RISKS
just wait for the new firmware, and see wat happens, ill still be playing all the latest games like assassins creed 2 wich is a single player game you dont even need live for amazing games like mass effect 2, ac2, dragon age, i could go on forever even gta, because thats crap on live anyways, so theres still loads of reason a banned 360 is still usefull, the only one that bothers me is modern warfare 2 wich is amazing online, that for me is the only game worth playin online anyway, the other option is buy another one and keep that for online games, so just buy the game as your probably only get a couple of games that you actualy play on live, for me it would just be codmw2, but ive got a ps3 anyway and i agree its much better being free and all, and live isnt any better, trust me ive played em both there exactly the same, played cod on ps3 then 360 both online and if someone could come and point out to me the differnence id be greatfull, there both good its only fanboys who would say other wise

Here's my question, how does MS red flag your system? There has to be an indentification or specific number/code they use to reference that your Box is now banned. It's not your IP address, is it the serial number, Mac address, etc?
Now once you find out what they code it with, how can you change that number/code? There has to be a way to generate a new number isnt there?

Yes, they use the console ID number. And yes, you can change it. But no, nobody knows how to generate a 'fresh' ID number. Even if they did, that ID number probably would not pass the MS 'smell test'.
However, you can accomplish this same goal by using a known-good console ID and swapping it to your own motherboard. This just swaps the ban from one console to another, so it isn't necessarily that useful... unless you can manage to get the console ID from a shoddy-condition or non-working 360 and put that console ID onto your own 360.
$38 on new discs -- Check
$15 on burn after burn that showed as a DVD -- Check
$11 on new laser -- Check
$28 on new multimeter -- Check

mate wat r u on about?, thats the most perfetic post ive ever seen, im banned too so wat, ive downloaded over 30 of the latest game and others have probably downloaded way more, so any dumb idiot could workout how much they have saved when i can go to gamestation and get another for 90 pounds, the price of 2 games, plus the console isnt uselesss because i can play any games without worry and play early releases on the banned one, my only worry is now that im banned will this mean they watch to make sure i dont do it again, cuz ive heard a few people say they have 3 modded 360 and all got banned, wich makes me wonder if because they banned one they double checked the others, so now im worried to flash another one, also your gamertag and achievements should all be fine on a unbanned 360 but only the ones before the ban i was told you just have to recover it on a unban 360 and the hard drive should be fine too, dont get me wrong mate im am a bit gutted but oh well shit happens, WE ALL KNOW THE RISKS
just wait for the new firmware, and see wat happens, ill still be playing all the latest games like assassins creed 2 wich is a single player game you dont even need live for amazing games like mass effect 2, ac2, dragon age, i could go on forever even gta, because thats crap on live anyways, so theres still loads of reason a banned 360 is still usefull, the only one that bothers me is modern warfare 2 wich is amazing online, that for me is the only game worth playin online anyway, the other option is buy another one and keep that for online games, so just buy the game as your probably only get a couple of games that you actualy play on live, for me it would just be codmw2, but ive got a ps3 anyway and i agree its much better being free and all, and live isnt any better, trust me ive played em both there exactly the same, played cod on ps3 then 360 both online and if someone could come and point out to me the differnence id be greatfull, there both good its only fanboys who would say other wise

Yes, they use the console ID number. And yes, you can change it. But no, nobody knows how to generate a 'fresh' ID number. Even if they did, that ID number probably would not pass the MS 'smell test'.
However, you can accomplish this same goal by using a known-good console ID and swapping it to your own motherboard. This just swaps the ban from one console to another, so it isn't necessarily that useful... unless you can manage to get the console ID from a shoddy-condition or non-working 360 and put that console ID onto your own 360.

i was wonring on a game shop and the rma dept is full os damaged 360s from teh 3 red lights era...if you can find a way to do that pleas elet me know....that are hundreds of xbox that never conected..damaged from 3 red ligths

As i read all the forums about ban wave, there is allot of theories on the banning.
1. Firmware being detected, doesn't matter which version you have
2. Powering dvd without it connected to the motherboard being detected when flashing is done.
3. Different games that were played that had issue
4. System is collecting data and sending it back M$ when connected to online
5. Modded Hard disk or not original OEM
6. Playing early release date games / bad rips etc
7. People Wave 3 only and Wave 3,4 & Activate ISO where banned
8. Little abgx360 error back then
9. Cheats etc
Till now i didn't read if somebody did try to used there key flashed it in another dvd drive and only used that spoof drive for playing backups offline without connected to the internet. Before going on XBL swap the original dvd drive back in to the system and connect it back to the internet for online play with original copies.
If this maybe would help to not get banned from XBL or flagged, but theory 4 will kill this if it's true.
Now is only a matter to wait and see what's really causing console bans!

let's say you had an xbox 360 that was perfectly fine, never been modded before, never banned from Live, but was damaged for whatever reason. It was of no use to you. We'll name this Xbox "#1"
Along with Xbox #1 you had an Xbox 360 that was recently banned from Live because of being modded. This box still works perfectly fine but can't play Live. We'll name this Xbox "#2".
In theory could you swap the console number of Xbox #1 with that of Xbox #2 and get back on live with Xbox #2 (the one that was originally banned)? Would it trick Microsoft into thinking that you went out and bought a new Xbox 360?

I got the ban-hammer the other day. I was at IX 1.6 I have not been playing any games for weeks. Only using Netflix. No Borderland, No MW2. Basically I downloaded an update and then watched a movie. The next time I logged in, I was banned... Didn't even have a disk in the drive. Prior to this, I would always run the games through agbx to check stealth.
My feeling is that M$ can detect the firmware directly with this last update.
