Quick way to copy a game. Assuming you have the original game dvd and want to back it up.
step#1
open dvd decryptor then go to MODE>ISO>READ and then it will copy the game and make an iso file on your pc hdd.
Step#2
when that finishes go to MODE>ISO>WRITE and then select the iso file that decryptor just maade. It will burn the file to the dvd and presto you are done.
Simple as that.
ok i tried that 2 and it is tellen me that there is not enough free disk space? sooooooo what now? i need more ram or what? cant i just copy it to a disk w/out using space how can i go around this!!!!

no it does not matter just make sure that it supports the -R media put your origonal in one drive and your blank in the other select>>mode>>iso>>read wait for it to burn to your computer
then select mode>>iso>>write
select your source file (were you just burned the origonal)
select destination (drive with blank media)
select 4x burn speed and press burn button
wait and then play your new burnt copy with with the use of swap magic or mod chip
as far as disc space you will need about 5-8gig available on your hard drive, im sure there is some stuff you can get rid of

please read the previous pages BUT MAKE SURE THEY ARE -R, taiyo yuden, & verbaitem are by far the most popular and reliable, most brands will work but the better the media the better the copy will be just make sure it is -R

If it is .bin, it is more then likely a cd based game.
Just burn it with Alcohol 120% and youll be good. IF it is a PS2 game, then yes you need the Ps2 CD Swap Magic for it to work. What s the zise of the bin file?
Peen!

well heres the thing it starts out as a lot of WinRAR packets the first one i extracted to a new folder and thats where i find the .bin files there's about seven or eight of those. when i went to extract the next pack it ask if i wanted to replace an .iso file. do i need to extract all those packs or try to burn ths .iso file(s). i'm new at burning games but just about any dvd is no problem for me. i have limited knowledge about mod chips but i know i could do it with just alittle more know how.i think the swap magic sound easier and i don't have a flip top just the fat boy ps2. one last thing can i burn ps1 games the same way?

yes it really is that easy with the origonal and DVD Decrypter, when i first started i couldnt believe that is was that easy, takes about 15 minutes total time with the origonal, and there are very few issues when using the origonal too, usually only a problem if you have to rebuild it

1) Get better media, preferably -R
2) If you cant get it working then, your laser is dead, your not burning correctly, or you dont have a modchip/swap magic lol....you do have a chip or use SM dont you? Please tell me you do or i will lose it.

I've been keeping up on this thread, trying to help whenever i can, but now i have a question.
I went out and bought a Gameshark thinking it was the lates (v1.4)
but it turns out to be a v1.1 ah!!!!
question is how can you tell from the package what version it is, because when i look on the packaging, it never says, or maybe im dumb and not looking in the right place.
however, im not that lazy and i looked for photos on google, and i couldn't find anything PLEASE HELP
i know AR works too, so maybe you could tell me about those too...
Thanks again guys

From where: a reputable installer, like teammodders.com (that's where I got mine from, but there are others of course). You ship your PS2 to them and they install it for you, so the how part is already covered. Of course, you would need to contact them one way or another first.
Also, there are mod chips that have thier own features. Most of them share some of the same attributes, like booting backups. What all do you want to do? If all you want to do is play your backups, then a basic mod chip should be good for ya.

yes, my kids have been bothering me forever why I cant make backups of our games like I do with my movies, I always told them I think doing backups for ps2's is not like doing a movie, told them I heard that first you need a software that does games, like clone2 does movies, and that our game console like our ps2 and xbox needs something called a modchip, nobody in my circle even knew what I was talking about, finally i meet a friend of a friend that builds computers and said he knows what a mod chip is and said he never installed one but knows about the process, so I guess I need to know what program can copy our store bought games for a backup and can't think of anything special like you mentioned, just want to make a regular backup and need to know about the do's and dont's about setting all this up, and also hoping that the guy that said he can probably figure it out will know what he's doing of course.

Hi, I'm trying to back up my son's ps2 cd-rom game using Alcohol 120%. I'm following this walk through http://www.xtreme-source.com/tutorials-p...-rom-games.html but when I go to select a Datatype of Play Station 2, the check boxes above it "Skip read errors", "Fast skip", "Advanced sector" etc. uncheck themselves. Is that normal? Shouldn't they stay checked if I checked em?
Thanks!
