you have been a great help to me!! I will clean the laser and see how it goes. But from now on, im going to start buying taiyos and verbs instead of TDK's. Thanks for your help and your recommendations!

FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES
1.Use quality -R media, aka Verbs, Ritek or Taiyo's. No Memorex doesnt fall in ths category
2.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A MODCHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3.Burn at half the rated speed of your disks or 4x, which ever is lower
4.If your using Swap Magic make sure the TOC of your backup is 4.37 gigs or less, if it is more than that rebuild using Gnie's Expert Tool to be safe.

Im not going into how to use alcohol because i have never really used it, and you cant make backups with Nero smartstart, you need Nero burning rom. Google DVD Decrypter, download it, learn it, love it. And oh yeah, read the first page of this thread atleast.

i have a mod chip and my balnk dvd is a DVD-R 4.7 120 min SONY yea maybe that will help u help me lol

LOL that wasnt meant for you, it was meant for everybody, cause the same questions are asked over and over and over.
Well you have all the items required, now just google DVD Decrypter. It might take you a few tries to find it, but it is for sure out there, and it is by far the easiest application to use when making a backup. I highly recommend you find it. After you get it, follow the directions on the first page to a T, and more than likely you will be the happy owner of a working backup.

yes its the same thing, just skip the parts that talk about ripping your game and move to the steps that talk about burning the game.

i cleaned the laser like you said, but unfortunately it made no difference. so it mite be the original, but im still going to try the game with taiyos and verbs. THANKS!

1.Go to mode, select iso -write
2.Under Destination pick the optical drive you are burning with
3.Under write speed pick 4x
4.Burn

sorry i didn't retried to back up splinter cell double agent but i still search!
I will try Gnie's Expert after Christmast like svtstang told us,it's a great possibility it's ours common failled back up with high toc game! but you can try Gnie's Expert during this period and told me! and if the result is still the same as you mentionned before,i'll try Alcohol 120% with the data base protection i found.
Until now i used DVD Decrypter and DVD-R sony for the back up of need for speed Carbon and most wanted, I Read and write my DVD-R only with DVD Decrypter with perfect result,with the default set up.
I never used imgburn until now! But i knew that alcohol it,s suposse to be the best soft for the back up in the world!
SONY Arccos protection it's inside the game play not on their blank DVD! so don't worry.
I know svtstang never mentionned DVD-R sony company made in Taiwan or Japan is still the same for my back up before with perfect result!
But Yes Taiyo uden is the best quality DVD for long lasting,durability and other reason.
Svtstang do we need to use Gnie's Expert first with DVD Decrypter or.....????????????????????????????

ok, i will rebuild splinter cell and see if it makes a difference. But splinter cell:da is only 2.74gb (thats the size of the .iso). I will rebuild the game 'old style' (iso buster, dvd/cd gen etc.) and i will post back to tell you the results.

Hey guys,

Ive done it all burnt it onto a Ritex -R and loaded it up with swap magic but just a black screen?:(

2)What is the rated speed of your DVD's and how fast did you burn at
3)What game and/or the TOC size of the game (how big the game is)

Im useing Version 3.8
Dosent tell me a rated speed, but i burned them at 4x
Tiger Woods - Just under 4gig
And yep its up to date.

I do know Swap Magic 3.8 has issues. Some people cant boot anything with it, some people are just fine. Im not saying that is the problem, but it could be. The TOC on that is 4.37 gigs I believe, so no problem there.
And to answer your last post, all games should work using SM, except DVD9s which need to be rebuilt. I would try backup another game, and vary your burning speed. For all i know you have 16x Dvds, and some ps2s just dont like them, regardless of the manufacturer. If thats the case, burn at 8x if your burner supports that, and/or try 2x. For sure use another iso just to rule out the the fact that Tiger Woods is a bad rip.

I Hate to ask this but your using the "Swap method" right, not just ejecting.
i can't think of anything else.. what are you burning them with, make sure it's decrypter... that is the only thing you should burn with, Nero is a waste of time
