did you just buy Swap Magic too.. if you read some of the post as you claim then you know that there has to be some trick to playing the burnt games... once you discovered there was a trick involved... you should have read the very first page to this post... where the trick is explained.... quite thoroughly

Something quick can I download and burn swap magic? I have seen a new product called coder, from swap magic which also includes cheats and hacks. Have a look!

Hm... I just bought Magic Keys II and the codec thing. I installed the 3 pieces (took a while) into my new slim ps2 (the newest one). I then load in the codec DVD, then swap out my burned Tekken 5 (burned using DVD Decrypter). I then hit "normal" then "Default" for the video type.
My screen shows a quick flash of what looks like memory cards, then fades into the red "Please load valid PS2 game". I've burned the DVD several times, and it comes out the same way. Maybe the Magic Keys was installed wrong? I followed a guide.. "http://www.mod-chip.com/Lite/Magic_Key_2_PS2_Install_Lite.pdf" . It would seem to me that the part that was supposed to block the sensor that keeps track of the lid opening or closing isn't working. I think thats the long one.
I dont know... any ideas of what I should try?
Thanks, Jeremy

Im pretty sure the GWA-4080N supports all type of burning, i saw somewhere it supports dual layer burning so im sure you are fine getting some Taiyo TYG02's. These are 8x -R, and are as good as it gets.
Right now SMS and meritline have an awesome deal, 50 bucks for 200. I couldnt get the links to work for some reason, but both supermediastore and meritline have this offer.
These are value line. I usually use these when TYGO2's arnt on sale. You will either get TYGO2's or TYG03's. Only difference is 03 is 16x. I have made many backups on Taiyo 16x DVD-R burned at 4x, and have never made a coaster.
Sorry about the links, I tried like 10 times and they wouldnt work correctly.
Stick with -R, +R should be ok also, especailly if your burner supports bit setting. NEVER, NEVER buy RW!!!!

Hi svtstang
Mine it's not dual layer as i knew, but i heard, if i change my firmware i will be able to write on a dvd ram but i do not knew if it posible to write on dual layer?
But thank you for information about Taiyo Yuden and if i get 100 for 50 buck it's good for me but if i get more it's ok too.

Hi JTG2003
I use wap magic keys II coder 3.8 with with my new release slim ps2
and i d'like you try to back up the game (need for speed most wanted)
use default set up of DVD Decrypter for read and write + blank sony DVD-R or Taiyo Yuden quality.
2- play your swap magic dvd not the cd and choose default and when the swap dvd disc stop! remove and insert your back up game and still choose default and the game will run like your personal original game.
If not! reinstall the piece no-3 rear, this piece have to be at the right place for block the swich inside your ps2.
bonne chance
ps:the first time i open my ps2 and i use doc tape for the piece no-3 no-2 and no-1 ;o) but after a week the ps2 became hot and my doc tape stop stick well.

Hey!
I just burned my second game since I Iearned how to do this... It's not working out as I hopes the first one did.
Anyway, I burned the game as usual.... using DVD Decrypter and used the swapmagic disc and it worked..
But, a dign comes up and says "Dualshock 2 analog controller not connected".
This is weird because it looks as if all I need is to put in the controller... BUT ITS ALREADY IN!
So if anyone can help out on this one.. Id appreciate it!
Thanks!

well are u using the ps2 controller or a ps1 controller? If your using a ps1 controller, it's not Dualshock 2, so you must use a ps2 controller. ;)

Yeah burn ps1 games at whatever speed you want, seems cd based media is affected by burn speeds like dvd media is.....i burn ps1 games as well as cd's at 16X, havent seemed to have a problem to this point.

There is a special file on the disc that tells the ps2 that is the original disc so instead of buying a mod chip is there a way to download the file off of a website or file sharing(not the whole game just verification)

errrrr...its called a boot sector, only a pressed game has this information. Where in hell you got the idea you could download this missing information is beyond me.....better yet i would hear what you hypothesize you would do with this data once you had it.....lets keep it short and simple and leave it at you cant.
