I've done a lot of research on this, but I'm still in the dark. I have

-PS2 (SCPH-7000 The new thin one)
-Memory Card
-Action Replay (that has flashdrive support)
-Flash Drive
-NO HARD DRIVE (Since the new ps2's can't use them)
-NO MOD CHIP

First of all, am I screwed? I want to be able to play backups, but I'd also like to use things like SNES Station. Can I use the exploit to boot cd-r's without
a hard drive or a mod chip, and If I can, which files do I need for the exploit?

They fixed the exploit in the slim ps2. You can still use the swap magic dvd though

Would the swap magic disk allow me to run backups without a mod chip?

If you are after all the latest elf (ps2) files and want something that can make config files and dummy files, check out my latest invention - Exploit Compiler1.1SE.
http://exploitstation.com/downloadnow.php?cat=downloads_1&file=30
(You'll need to sign up to get it, but its worth it).

By the way, if you have been unable to get the independence exploit installer cd to work, try this out, it outputs to correct directory structure if you click "CD" In output.

Hello all! I have gone through this process before and prolly made like 5 coasters but I still wanna try. my first question is what is the easiest way to compile the exploit and is it possible to transfer it to the memory card via sharkport? Also one other quesion I dont think anyone has asked(maybe), since the exploit is based on the ps1 can I use a ps1 emulator to test my image before I burn it?

Ps2 is non modded
gameshark v2
8mb Ps2 memory card

Actually I did find a way to transport the exploit via sharkport to the memory card. I can now make whatever changes I need to without having to burn ANY cd's at all. Now my only problem is getting the snes emu cd with roms to work. When I use the cogswap prog it loads fine but if I use the gameshark method (slidecard trick) it doesnt work any ideas?

I formatted my 200GB Maxtor using WinHiip (in an external enclosure) with the 48bit patch selected.

I have now installed my hard drive into my PS2 making sure all the connections meet up.

I have created the mc exploit, but after all of this when select the HDLoader exploit, it tells me that it could not detect any hardware.

I have my jumper set to master and have tried the following exploits:

HD Loader & with 48 bit patch
HDadvance & 2.0.

They don't even offer me the option to format, my disk is not recognised. Please help!!

This is all kinda confusing I just got a ps2 and not really had the time to puzzle it all out.
I have the following things and wonder if that would do for the exploit:
PS2
512 compatable thumb drive
net link
Sony 8 meg card
GameShark with the media player

I mean theres no uncrunch options on the gameshark memory manager or whatever.I would like to know what goes on the memory card its self as far as files I can copy things from the thumb drive directly to the memory card (except folders)I've tried all the saves even raw files I don't really get it?Im aware of how to use the title man.I have ps1 games does this have to be installed or can files just be copied over and if so which ones? All that ever happens is the game boots up?

petephil-Yes you can you have to create a save file containing the files for the exploit, then install sharkport 2 software on pc, you can then transfer the save via usb to usb (Do not use a regular usb cable, use one that has modulator in the middle). Make sure you have your dongle when you use the gameshark 2v2 (ps2 disc)

duke-Use the ps2savebuilder to create the save file with the exploit in it then convert it from the ps2 save to a max save.
