L-Burna,
This is where I got confused:
/FILES/BOOT.ELF (KL)This should be the KL.ELF file which you can get from the keylauncher V0.3 .rar file.It should have a KL.ELF file and a KL.DAT file that fixes some problems. The way you use the KL.ELF file is retype it to say BOOT.ELF file which will boot your apps off the memory card.
Are you just supposed to not worry about this and grab the ps2menu.elf file and rename it to BOOT.elf? And then keep the KL.DAT file.
Also is there anyway I can get it to boot off of a PS2 Rainbox Six game? Is so how do I change the KL.DAT to reflect it? That is the only original game I have ever had. I use Swap Magic by the way.

@jonjakjam
YOU SAID: you cant, if you read my post i did tell you to go to the swap magic website http://www.swapmagic3.com/ and get the SMBOOT.ZIP file then follow the instructions there to get it all working. when youve done all that you can use SM3.3 original to load elfs from the memory card.
I have Swap Magic, so what do you mean by use the original to load elfs from the memory card.
??You take the SM3.3 I have, stick it in, if I have already installed the SMBOOT.ZIP and followed the directions, then I can load elfs from the memory card. Are you saying I don't need to use a PS1 game? And the SM3.3 will take me to the ps2menu.elf (renamed to BOOT.ELF). So then when I put in my SM3.3 disc it will become my trigger disc?

I was replying to tacticz, telling him to use the original smd and not a backup copy.
I have not tested the SMBOOT exploit method but it seems fairly simple and should work.

YES thats exactly what im saying...if you have the new SM3.3 you dont need to use a ps1 game.
hmm, read here:

Well I have tried to use this memory exploit and have had no success. So I am beginning to think maybe this one is to much for me anyway. This is what I got and want to do. I have a Modded FlipTop PS2 with SMD3.3. I also have a 40GB Maxtor HD. I want to put games onto my Hard Drive. I already formatted it using WinHiip and now I just need the software onto my memory card so I can begin install games and accessing them. So basically, what .elfs do I need? Can I install the SMBOOT one and that will allow me to install HDLOADER? And that's all I need?

Hi. Excellent guide, however I can't get my cd-r to work on my ps2. I'm trying the psone disk trick where I've opened up the ps2 and swapped the original psone disk with the cdr I've created using this guide. I'm using the TITLE.DB for 800 psones and still coudln't get it to work. All I'm getting is the black Playstation load screen with the SCEA beneath the Playstation sign and that's it. I've tried this many times. Is there something I'm doing wrong or do I have to try using a different media?
I have a network adapter and I'm waiting for a Harddrive from ebay. I would really like this exploit to work. I also have a usb drive from Lexar. Can anyone help me out? Hopefully I don't have to buy anything else.

just in case someone was wondering more details of my situation I'm using a scph-39001 model of the ps2, no mods, no flip-top cover, no swap magic disk, just trying to swap the street fighter alpha 3 disk with an opened case. I thought it would was the method L-Burna used but I'm probably wrong. Is the method of swapping incorrect or am I just doing something wrong with the burning. I'm sure somebody must've seen this black playstation load screen with the SCEA letters underneath. I've made 4 coasters already it seems and have been trying this swap method for a few days.

At the moment I'm assuming I DO need to go out and purchase something else..perhaps a gameshark v2 to get the swap trick working.. Forgive me for being such a noob, L-Burna but I assumed all you used was a psone disc and no mods or anything for the swap to work...How exactly did u do your swap trick?

AHAHA! I have finally figured out what the hell went wrong. I was trying to use my DVD Swap Magic disc instead of my CD Swap Magic Disc. I always thought their might be a purpose for that other one. Oh well, I'm a newb, but it is working great, now I just have to get a compatible hard drive and I'll be set up! Thanks guys!

does anyone know how to get the mem exploit to work with a 160GB hard disk? it boots ok but it stops halfway where it loads the files from the mem cart. it must have something to do with hd loader(maybe it's the older version that doesn't support hard drives above 120GB) does the ps2menu program work?

OK.
Just a quick report.
Bought the AR MAX for $10.
Followed L-Burnas tutorial.
Got stuck on the XPS converter but quickly found post with solution (downloaded 6.0 version).
Put file on my USB MP3 player.
Uncrushed file from MP3 player to MC.
Complete success on first atempt.
Bless you guys!

If anyone here has AR Max (with media player), and a network adapter, but does not have a usb drive, you are in luck. I made a program called Exploit Sender which will have you exploit uncrushed to your memory card in no time. Tutorial + Software here.

Oh, and I prefer to use this method over USB cause its quicker for me..

I have had that error before "tile.db"...
Your title.db wasn't made right...try just using one slus/sles instead of multiples...

If you put the cogswaperlancher.elf on a usb pen drive, and try to load it on the AR MAX media player, it will run the swaper.
At least for me, but i don't want to use the sawp method so i can't use it...
Signature failed to load ---> Error 69

Hi, I need help. I am going crazy.
I have installed the exploit following the excellent guide and everything seems to work ok as the installation says it is completed. But when I boot with my ps1 game, then it says that it is an Audio Cd with 2 tracks.
I have tried other different installations and I always have the same problem.
I have an European ps2, I use the Action Replay to boot the installer, and the ps1 game that I use is C-12 Final Resistance (SCES_033.66).
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks very much in advance.

i have made over 20 coasters, and still the exploit is successful, but when im loading a PSX game it still stays black!(i waited more than 20 minutes!) And still when i disable my modchip there are audio tracks instaead of booting the game. is it the exploit? or is it the original disc that is worn out?

The exploit is flawless. It must be a problem with the mod you guys are using. Can't really help with this one. Sorry!
