The Nikkei Keizai Shimbun morning edition reports today that due to component shortages, Sony will have only 80,000 units ready for the PS3's 11/11 Japanese launch. This cuts back by a fifth the initial launch target of 100,000.
The lack of digits in that number is even more staggering when you consider that the PS2 sold out of nearly a million units when it launched back in March of 2000.
Having lived through a few weeks of attempting to obtain a PS3 pre-order, we're not too surprised by the lowered shipping numbers. Allocations disappeared quickly at online retailers that were brave enough to start pre-order programs. The online arm of media retailer Tsutaya ran out of units in 6 minutes according to Nikkei (it felt more like 1 minute to us).
Major electronics chains like Yodobashi Camera won't be taking pre-orders, Nikkei reports, so there's only one option left: line up the day before launch. Although with fewer units to go around, we're considering getting in line starting from the week prior.

ok check this out im a big fan of Clive Barker if no one knows who he is , Think of Pinhead and that puzzle box that open up the gates of Hell . I was a big fan of the spooky gruesome movie Hellraiser lol it was sick! well if anyones know he's got a game called Jerico and it is coming to the Ps3. here the info
Codemasters has revealed a few more specifics about Clive Barker's Jericho, the next-gen and PC horror first-person shooter in development at Madrid-based Mercury Steam.
And since it's Halloween, they've also chosen today to release some grisly screenshots and a trailer, the latter now showing on Eurogamer TV.
Due out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC in 2007, the game sees the eponymous Jericho team heading to the Middle-Eastern city of Al-Khali, site of a huge archaeological dig and paranormal research centre, in search of a dodgy dimensional rift.
But they won't just be firing their guns at the hellish creatures that pour forth from said rift, oh no, because the Jericho team are also trained in the arcane arts, with each member "an expert in different para-psychological disciplines including clairvoyance, alchemy, blood magic and exorcism".Players will have to work through the streets of the deserted desert town of Al-Khali looking for the rift, and then presumably will have to do something about it. And judging by the shots and the trailer, that'll be the least of their worries to start with.

ok that was pretty nice sony is gone hit a home run when this gets on and poppin lol they really are tryin to replace computers wow , and I want a psp now since i heard down the road when they work it out (maybe), you will be able to connect to the ps3 anywere in the world instead of in another room I hope they go through with this plan

i've said many a time over the past year that you could use that head set. ive said it when people go "omg 7 controllers, wtf?". i mention 4 players, a headset, keyboard, and mouse, or w/e combo you want.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

@ SovMish , yeah that game looks like a winner to me I can think if CLive Barker is the brains on this man its gone be sickk because thats what Hellraiser was sickk lol but theres another survival horror game I seen called Harker it looks very good , I might post some screenshots of it if I can find smaller ones they are huge!
@ Hade, I aint see you in awhile lol man that is a nice video I'm guess you can change the crossbar background differnt colors? also that is nice how its shows you the cables you need so you wont have to look in stores for them , oh and that other link that very tight please tell me those clouds will move in the background while you play music if so I gone be elbowin the hell out of people for one of these consoles next month
