I'm having trouble ripping Dark Knight. And I see clearly I'm not the only one! It basically loads up, says "Parsing file system", gets up to VTS_05.IFO and freezes... It won't get past that point... Something with VTS05... I tried DVD Decrypter, Rip It 4 Me, and DvdFab5 HD Decrypter... can anyone help? What do you suggest I try doing?? I saw earlier something about Any Dvd and Nero with a dual layer DVDR?? Please help...
Thank you

Make sure you're using the latest update for DvdFab: 5.2.1.2 (came out today) And you shouldn't have any issues getting it to rip. Process the files through FixVts or VobBlanker.
This title is no longer a problem for either DvdFab or Anydvd as long as you're using the most current version.

OK I will admit i am a total dumby when it comes to this stuff. Several questions
First I noticed some people giving each other a hard time about getting dvd fab from a torrent. Could someone explain why this might be bad?
Second ok thats where I got my dvdfab just clicked a link on one of the first few pages and thats were it led me so i downloaded it.
I have tried to rip it to the hard drive several times using the latest dvd fab but when it gets to 60% dvd fab shuts down
Any advice?
I tried to get anydvd but apparently i already tried that program in the past so my free trial is over. With the holidays close cant really afford to purchase full program right now.
Take it easy on me as I openly admit i am a complete dumb as* when it comes to this stuff.
I barely can use dvd shrink I honestly dont understand most of it i just know what i need to click to get it to copy the dvd for me.
Thanks any information is appreciated heck laugh at me if you want i dont care as long as you help me also.
Thank you

First of all, turn of the caps lock. There is no reason to yell. Second, if you would have bothered to read some of the other multiple pages of posts, you would have known that your above statement is completely wrong. The latest versions of DVDFab and AnyDVD have no issues with this title as many people have stated their success in backiing it up.

trutxn78,
Most people that use a torrent site are usually d/ling an illegal program or files. Now some are legit but a large majority are not.
Below is the company site to D/L a legit free copy of DVDFAB HD Decrypter:
http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm
As far as not being able to rip the DVD to the HD you might have a bad mastering press so I would take it back and exchange it
Shrink really is easy to use . If you want only the Movie then click on Re-author (after the DVD is analyzed) and slide the main movie over to the left side

If anyone else can help, I'm having trouble ripping Dark Knight. I tried the newest version of DVDFab with CSS Region running in the background, and it won't even load up...

Uninstall and run a registry cleaner like Ccleaner then install the new version from here: http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm (if you're using the free version)
Make sure the disc surface is clean and scratch free.
Is this the only movie you've had trouble with?

Got my copy of the Dark Knight from the public library last night, downloaded the new free version of DVD Fab HD Decrypter, 5.1.2.2 (the one that comes with Platinum and Gold 30-day trial editions, too), and it ripped The Dark Knight perfectly, no problems, in 30 mins. Then I split with DVD Shrink onto 2 DVDs and burned. Watching it now. No problem. I had the no frills DVD if that matters, but the file size was about 7000 MB, so it's the whole hog, just no extras on this edition of the film. Does this new DVD Fab 5.1.2.2 program take care of any Wall-E problems also? I should be getting that from the library this weekend. Boy, the folks at DVD Fab did a great and timely job at cracking what I have read to be a really tough encryption code--and it took what, all of a week or a bit more? Or less? Cheers!

OMG. You are KIDDING. You guys are so hysterical on here, lol. Watching a copy I make once every 5 years is really a crime, LOL, when I can check it out of the library as many times as I want anyway. I have my 63-disc West Wing complete set so I can watch it at my own pace; I'm not selling them after. And freinds appreciateb the loan. You made my day, lol. Loosen up, people. I guess the 4000 CDs I have and the free books from the publisher are keeping food from the mouths of Lear jet owners? LOL.

Do you realize that what you just said was a confession to copyright infringement and could get you in trouble in a civil country or heavily fined. No to mention legal fees from blood sucking lawyers!! Why don't you just turn yourself in! Suppose the RIAA people are lurking here mixwell, use some common sense. Besides is also against the rules here too. And you should know at your member status.
Edit yall are fast- before I could respond the lightning hit. LMFAO

I don't think it has anything to do with the condition of the disc. The software is not reading it. I put the disc in, and it freezes and shuts the whole software down... Its not like it has trouble midway, it doesn't even load. I have the latest of Dvd Fab and I see multiple people are doing it successfully, but with me it's not even loading... I'll keep trying, but I dont think its the condition of the disc...

And yes, this is the only movie I've been having these problems with... I've never experienced anything like this with any other movie, and they were just as new...

You may need a new rom/burner man. Ive had problems in one drive where it breezed right through on another. I now have 7 optical drives. And each believe it or not has its own quirks, whether burning or ripping.
:D <------ yes... i am obsessed. Sony DRU840(samsung) EXCELLENT ripper!!!
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

If you installed DVDFAB a month ago, then you probably do not have the latest version. Someone posted the link to the latest version on this page, go download it and re-install and try again.

So what are some other options for us folk who are having these problems with ripping Dark Knight?? It freezes the software and causes it to shut down... I'll try and clean it up and re-dl it again... but I did that already, and I'm still having problems.
