Which segment/timeframe are you guys talking about? I saw no prob, no blurriness. Are you guys simply critical??? I mean no offense, serious! :) :) :)
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

Quote: Are you using the real/paid DVDFab Platinum? If so what version? Like I said, I'm using the FREE DVDFab HD Decrypter 5205 and it's ripping smoothly.
That is what I just used and it worked great! Used DVD shrink and then burned it with NERO. Thank you very much for the info!

From a Region 4 perspective, i had no issues with ripping the first disc (feature only) with DVDFab 5.1.2.2. However the second disc (special features), refuses to be read at all.
I find it very peculiar, our region sometimes misses out on the extravegant copy protection measures on some huge movie releases not to say we are immune (we generally have the same copy protection present on the Disney releases as other regions do). But yeah i'm at a loss to explain why the first disc was fine, but the second disc (with no visible marks at all) fails. It starts off at normal speed, but gradually drops down to a read speed of 0.01.
Awesome movie! still holds up on dvd, although the cinema screenings i went to were excellent (i'd love to see it again, if the movie gets re-released at the cinema in January).

People, before posting at least upgrade your tools-DVDFab and/or AnyDVD first. Then you probably won't need to post, If you're trying to open TDK with Shrink or Decrypter by themselves it's not going to happen! This was not a hard movie in US. They had two weeks or more to fix them and they have. Kudos, Fab and Anydvd.

^^Agree. Current versions of either should have zero problems.
Ripped Full Disc with DvdFab 5.2.0.8. > Processed with Vob Blanker > Encoded with Dvd Rebuilder > Burned with Imgburn. Zero issues, it came out great.

I don't think it's that no one saw it; just most of us use either (or both) Anydvd or DvdFab due to the regular updates to keep up with newer encryptions.
Glad you got it done.

Just tried two different ways...
Used DVDFab 5.2.0.5 and made a full DVD9 backup to my hard drive. Tried to compress those files with DVD Shrink 3.2 and it crashed my PC. Tried to run it through CloneDVD 2.9.2.0 and it kept stopping about 2/3rds of the way through the files, even if I tried to remove the French and Spanish language and subtitles. Used Roxio7 and it appears to have compressed and burned all of the files from DVDFab on it's own.
Tried the Rip to Hard Drive files option on AnyDVD 6.4.9.0 and burn using CloneDVD with removing all languages except English, but CloneDVD would stop 2/3rds of the way. Tried to run those files through DVD Shrink and while it was scanning the files, the preview looked like green and black pixelations then would lock up my system. Trying to use Roxio7 to burn those files to a dvd and seems to be going well with it's own compression utility.
UPDATE - both backups worked flawlessly with full menus and all languages.

The only dvd programs I have on my computer are anydvd 6.4.9.0 and clonedvd 2.9.2.0. and nero. All the other programs I use in a pinch on dvd's with problems like the dark knight are on my external hard drive which crashed recently, so I have to muster through until I can get my data retrieved, unless I wanna download it all again, which I don't, lol. Glad that audio stream thing worked for me, sorry it didn't help you though.
Better lucky than good....

Ok guys. It worked for me, it'll work for you.
Progi's Used
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
AnyDVD 6.4.9.0 (newest one)
DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 (last free version)
Insert DVD,
AnyDVD will analyze disc, (only progr I found that will)
Then right click over tray icon fox, and choose "Rip Video DVD to harddisk", select the correct drive, select folder for files. Let run. Then bring up DVD Shrink to shrink. Files are not only copied but they aren't encrypted either.

You will be impressed with DVD-Rebuilder Pro + CCE or ProCoder or HC. Note that CCE or ProCoder is not free.
All I want is "quality" on my backups. I'm usually a Nero Recode 3 (Advanced Analysis + High Quality Mode + Assign Best Quality to Main Movie). However, THE DARK KNIGHT required a lot of compression (30% or more), so I'm with DVD-Rebuilder Pro + CCE on this one.
Again, my backup came out beautiful (ripped with DVDFab HD Decrypter 5205, VobBlanker to delete/blank useless junks and process, encoded with DVD-Rebuilder Pro + CCE and burned with Nero Burning Rom).
Good luck to all.

Ehhh... I am glad I used rebuilder. But... the difference is marginal on this one. I have however noticed extreme differences on High compression jobs like episodic discs, 3hrs+. So I guess it needs a challenge, lol. I have noticed that shrink will do a likeable job when the source video is sharp and can afford it. Dont get me wrong, I do see a difference between the two. Guess I coulda removed the subtitles, but doing so in past movies (hidalgo) screwed with MUCH needed subtitles. Besides, the difference would be marginal at best. Man... I really need an upscaler!!
To delete, or not to delete. THAT is the question!

Wow, I can't believe all the trouble every one has been having, bieng a non techie I really consider myself lucky.
anydvd & clone, I did one with a dl the movie and all the crap, and one with just the movie, also did just the movie by splitting two reg. dvd's and one with just the movie on a reg. dvd at 70%.
Everyone did great, had no problem with anything, there were no blurrs etc. all the other things I have read about. Odd.

I tried the latest AnyDvd, and CloneDvd2, kept getting I/O errors. Looked at the disc, and no marks of any sort on it, so tried Dvdfab with AnyDvd, and was able to rip it to the HDD. Then used Clone (movie only) to burn it, but received 7 coasters (TY @ 8X). Funny, they all failed as soon as they were opened. Finally, uninstalled the drivers on the ATA/ATAPI channel, and re-booted.....it finally worked with no more coasters.

Quote: so tried Dvdfab with AnyDvd,
DVDFab asks that you close AnyDVD before using it!! How could that help. Have you tried AnyDVD6490 with Shrink or NeroRecode if you have it.Try using the AnyDVD ripper-file mod-notISO- to get clean file to HDD and then open in Shrink or Recode. And after coasterizing 3TYsX8-and I hope not +Rs-, much less 7,I think I would have snuck a RW disc in there until I got it right. That's a high quality 7 coaster set of TYs. You might as well make it 8 and put it on ebay. LMAO
