LOL. I dont think anyone knows all there is to know about software/builds/computers! When family/friends tell me im the goto guy I laugh. Because I doubt I know 5% of what there is to know. Computer science advances sooo quick there is NO way to keep up. Heck, when I am asked for help, 4/5 times I haved to run a google, :D Sorry about OT.
@denaliart - YOU WILL LOVE REBUILDER. Dont be intimidated by it. Give it a chance. Ive played with it quite a bit. Though I believe from what ive read, Dialysis is the goto guy for rebuilder. And then of course the author

Dialysis1 is certainly a good go-to-guy for DvdRB, and there is a forum dedicated to discussion of Rebuilder. Dialysis posts there quite a bit. Between him and Creaky they turned me onto Rebuilder and that's about all i use now.
Don't be intimidated by it. It's pretty straightforward and there's a good guide (in the guides section) to get you started.

Hey lash. Did you know that running anydvd on the fly WITH dvd shrink wont entirely fix the dvd? What I mean is, it has a FIXVTS capability that wont be utilized on the fly. You need to rip first with anydvd ripper. It will remove unreferenced material and what not. Hope that helps, but if your copy works, cudos.

just got my copy of the dark knight and tried to back it up with dvd platinum.
It looped the disk info scan till the program crashed.
I just got any dvd and it worked but i have not burned it because i have no dual layer disks. I wonder if you can use dvd platinum to burn it?

..just use Platinum to shrink the movie files to single layer size. You can do this with Platinum at the ripping stage and also do it manually via pointing Platinum at a folder containing files that need shrinking

Hi creaky. This might be a simple question, but when anyone says point to it, or point to the folder etc... what exactly do you guys mean? This kinda went over my head ever since I got started w/the whole video thing. Thnx.

When Fab opens up, just use the topmost box, the one names 'Source', and point it towards the relevant folder on the hard drive..

Here is the easiest way and fastest way to backup your copy of the dark knight, update to the latest dvdfab, have anydvd running n the background(possibly no need for anydvd) have dvd shrink and dvd decrypter, now run dvdfab and remember where you copy the files location, then open dvd shrink after it finishes then iso. the file with dvd decrypter from dvd shrink and copy. perfect copy made.

The easiest way for you would be rip the DVD to HDD with AnyDVD 6490 and then open the file in Shrink and output whatever you want Video_ TS or ISO and burn that puppy with ImgBurn the update for DVD Decrypter.
Imgburn-
http://www.imgburn.com
OR use free Version of Fab and rip it and use Shrink-ImgBurn or let Fab shrink it and burn it.
You're making this too difficult. You got all the tools to do it easily. ImgBurn is a must have free program! Just as DVDDecrypter still is, just not used much anymore. I realize you got the movie done your way and that is commendable since so many are having trouble. But learn the easy ways to do these things and ALWAYS keep your rippers (Fab & AnyDVD) updated! :)

Thnx creaky. I was under the impression it meant dragging and dropping a folder somewhere.
Poor Ledger must be rolling around in his peace hole w/all these complicated methods sprouting up on how to crack TDK. Both Anydvd and Fab specifically updated their proggies for this puppy. The rest is history.

The new version of DVDFab 5.2.1.0 works. After trying to back-up the DVD with older version with no success I went to DVDFab's website to see that they have a new version out on Dec 12. This new version works perfectly with no problems and as for the other posters that stated problems with Wanted or WallE I had no problems backing up those with the older version

Used the trial version of DVD Fab Platinum to copy Dark Knight onto 2 standard DVD's. It wouldn't run in my Sony Player which is about 6 years old, but runs fine in the new DVD player I got the kids for Christmas.
DVD Fab Platinum did what Ideal DVD could not! I'm sold!

After reading this it might be misuderstood. I meant to say dvdfab, dvdshrink and fox burner. The newbees just might get confused.

Ya'll might find this interesting, but I used DVD43 in the background and ripped it with DVDFabHD 4.1.2.0, and now it's burning with Shrink with absolutely no issues so far.
The funny thing is that FabHD wouldn't read the movie so i started up 43 and then HD and when HD started it said it was incompatible with 43 and that I needed to uninstall 43. Interesting that they don't work well together when they just worked beautifully together... just some information for ya.

Thanks for the information, but i personally wouldn't use DVD43 for anything. Typically it conflicts with other programs and is, IMO just troublesome.
You could've ripped it with DvdFab's most recent update without having to use anything else.
Glad you got it though.

dvd43 is wicked software i have dvdfab with it and copyed 1000s of movies also dvd flick is great for copying movies from the net like all the new movies from watch-movies.net , but the best copying software is roxio all the rest copy roxio because there just not good at all ,roxio does it all cds,dvds,mp3,ringtones,pics,and lots more if you dont have roxio get something cheaper like dvd fab not nero this fecks up ur drivers i should know i had it its the worst of all copying software .

You got the "wicked" part right, I just don't think it was in the way that you meant it to be. I was thinking more along the traditional since, as in bad. Also Roxio has a tendancy to take over your ODD as well as conflict with your other software. But that is just my 2cents.

What can I say but thanks to Afterdawn and the senior members. Backup TDK with DVDFab 5.2.0.9, remove an ad with PGC Edit, remove the unwanted stuff with VOB Blanker and then onto DVD Rebuilder. From there burned a flawless backup of TDK on an single layer disc to a tune of 67% compression using IMG Burn.
