Quote: 2) Next visit http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ pick the city closest to yours and get your max upload speed. Now with that same number, (for eg. 300 kb/s) divide first by 8 (eg. 300/8 = 37.5) then take that number you just got and multiply it by .8 (eg. 37.5*.8 = 30) (If you are good with percentages, then just take 10%. ;) The final number you get is your Global Max Upload, which can be set in the Preferences section of Utorrent.

I'm trying to forward a port for my Linksys WRT54G router so that uTorrent isn't restricted. I have followed the portforward.com guide to the letter, yet it is still saying that the port is not open, and my speed is still restricted, by the look of things. I'm on a 10mbit connection, yet I'm getting horrible speeds, most of the time. I have set up a static IP but...

Hi, I was wondering if you guys could help me. I want to make my download speed alot faster, i was reading through some of the posts and i seem to have the same problem as other users (my Upload speed is more then my download speed). My download speed tends to be about 15 KB/sec usually lower. I would try the speed test but i do not know which link to click on (I live in UK but not near Manchester or London). Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

wtf how are you guys getting such high speeds; last i checked rogers blocks torrents. I have high speed rogers (im in Canada) and im directly connected to the internet so no router problems and i've been downloading a torrent that was going at a speed of 45-100kb/s until about 25%, now it downloads at 0-1kb/s!!!! Can any1 help me with configuring my isp or utorrent to increase my speed or ANYTHING that could help me because i see there are people that are getting good speeds with rogers so now im just stumped!!

Maybe Rogers only blocks in certain areas, I know Shaw blocks torrents but I have read that some areas have no problem. Something to check but if that's not it, I don't know.
