Im not with any private trackers, but I can get up to 350-400kbps on heavily leeched torrents. There's litteraly so many I really don't know who to go with and even then its hard to get in. Could you please recommend the best private trackers to try to sign up to? And also is there anything else you did to get over 1000kbps because I'm sure its possible for me with my 13,000kbps download speeds?

Hey all. Great Guide. I got a small problem with my uTorrent. I followed the instructions carefull and forwarded the port accordingly. I use 2wire 2700hg modem and i am on wireless conection. My internet speed is 1500kbps ( thats what they claim it to be ). I have also put exceptions for uTorrent in ZoneAlarm and windows firewall. but i can seem to get the green tick. instead, i get an red exclamation. really need some help. the file i am dling now has 43(120) seeds and 213(861) peers. My dling speed is 50-70 kBps and upload is around 40kBps. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advvance. Btw, I am from Singapore.

hey DVDBack23, are those trackers private?
BTW, have any of you guys changed your half-max-connection to 50? I mean the default is 10 and I just wanna know how many of you actually change this setting. From what I know, once you set the half-max-connection to 50 or more, you'll get higher speed. Am talking about the patch that you have to download to change your half-max-connection and to eliminate the 4226 warnings(tcip) found in the event viewer under administrative tools.
I hope someone knows what Am saying.. =D
@sacredgo, I used to have that problem. Funny how our speeds are almost the same. but anyway, just wait maybe for a week. I also got frustrated at first when I experienced that red exclamation icon. In my case, it comes once in a while and I just got used to it.(whenever my internet crashes down) it will go back to the green check icon eventually and until then, just wait patiently. :D

Thanks for yr suggestion. But, i didnt even see the tick once. I admit i am using utorrent for about 4 days now ;-) I have done the TCP hack and followed all tweaks. Its abt the same everywhere. Are there any programs that tweak Utorrent? I am aware there are acclerators for other P2P liek Bearshare and Limewire. But not for Utorrent. Anyways, i feel i have properly configured my system to all the port but my port test always shows it is closed. Thinking ZoneAlarm is to blame, i switched it off temporarily but the results are the same. The damn "!" dosent change to a tick. Are there any ways to do it for my modem, 2Wire 2700hg? Thanks again...

Omg, I am the super uber N00b. It actually damn simple. I followed the instructions at portforward.com BUT i did not change the computer in my network from my desktop to my laptop. i had forwarded it to my desktop instead. This left me stumped for days but the solution is really simple. Zzz

Hi,
I have followed your guide, and my speed is currently stuck at around 40kB/s. I have a 10Mbit connection, and http://www.dslzoneuk.net/ gave me the following results:
7654 Kbps
which is around 956.79 KB/s
including overheads
I'm not sure what to put for my settings. Currently, I have:
Global Maximum Upload Speed: 78
Global Maximum Download Speed: 100
Global Max number of Connections: 450
Max peers per torrent: 200
Upload slots: 127
I've enabled protocol encryption and whatnot, and I am running through a WRT54G Linksys router (which has been forwarded). Any ideas on how I can improve my speed?

Usually anime, but the files vary from around 200meg upto 4gb or so. I use private trackers where possible, but otherwise I use public areas, like torrentz.com

On everything. I mean, sometimes I get a really good Seeder:Peer ratio, so it does sometimes go up to 100kb/s or so. But my connection speed is only a little slower than yours, so shouldn't I be getting a similar speed?

Mwahahahahahh, okay, thanks for all the help. I hit 2.5MB on my first private tracker download (makes a nice change from the usual 40-55KB I got before). Yay! It's really easy to get in to some private trackers, just be persistent.
P.S Tell me if you beat this speed!

I'd like to know the same - my upload speed is usually much higher than my download speed...
