I recently found out that my connection is 5mb. But Am only getting 90 kbps with a good ratio. I think rogers is throttling my connection. But I recently found out a way to solve it. I changed my port to 1720. I heard that Rogers doesn't recognize this port and therefore, will give you a better dl speed. It works for me. Try it.

Sure man -- its Tracker Checker.. Can be found, and described here:
http://torrentfreak.com/private-bittorre...signup-checker/
Have fun -- (You can uncheck the trackers you wouldn't use,.. ie: if you don't DL porn, etc)

Depending on if Packet Shaping is used, among other routing services.. Making sure Encryption is forced would get through the ISP's detection of "torrent" sniffing. That is what its for ;)

Also make sure to use a port over the 10000 range, the 9000 range is a known bit torrent range and is easily distinguisable for your isp.

LOL there are like 70000 ports. 70000 may not be correct but it is somewhere in that region.

Alright. I'm back again. UTorrent started crashing again. lol.
It worked great for a week.
I have my max connections at 75 My max peers at 50 and my max upload at 20. I should have to have numbers that low, should I?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I did try the newest one and had the same problems.
That's why I went back to 1.6 as it seemed to be the one most people were using and many torrent sites required.
I might try updating to the newest one again tonight.

I dont get this internet speed business.
I have a 2 mbps connection and I download normal files (not torrents)
with a speed of 100 kbps-300 kbps.
how fast is it supposed to be?
when sites tell me to tell my download speed I see 200k,200kbs,200kbps,
2mbps.
Okay...witch one should I choose?
and do they all mean the same?

Guys, don't upgrade your utorrent's to the latest version coz I heard that it contains a lot of bugs. Just stick with 1.6 :D

I think I finally figured out what the problem was.
The utorrent faq says that it would crash if spyware doctor was installed. I thought it would only cause a problem if the program was actually running. Turns out, it seems to have a problem if the program is even installed.
Odd.
Oh well. Things seem to be fine now. Will update if it is still gravy in a few days.
Thanks all-

Well, you have that little green checkmark in the bar down there. It is possible that your firewall is blocking it in some way, through it shouldnt be green then. Well, you could try to put the port to something like 55000 and forward it again with that port.
