So glad to see you guys found it helpful and easy to understand....I was once a modding noob myself, and it took helpful people to get to where I'm at, so I understand how some people might feel...but like Game said above, all it takes is a little effort and desire to actually READ lol....

well, I did it after all, I used ndts file off of ndure installer, copied it to my original xbox hard drive, ran the version of evox found in that file, copied c and e drive to hdm, copied eeprom and with live info tool hooked my 250 gig to my computer, went into live info added hdd password from my 10 gig drive saved bin file and cfg file, and put them on hdm also, loaded hdm, tried to copy c drive that was fine , tried to copy e drive but had errors, so i copied manually through xbrowser, locked the drive and booted to xbox and came up error 21, went back to lock unlock, and unlocked the drive and now it works took quite some time but im happy now, I would like to thank all that have helped. Happy Modding!

alright....im not new to this stuff but im having problems.....ive previously soft modded my xbox using the hot swap technique and xbhdm... well my old computer flaked out on me the other night, so i decided to open er up and see whats inside..well i found out that the hdd was a 40gig western digital wd400 , and its compatible with my xbox...so i decided to try and upgrade my hdd. Alright so i dowonload xbhdm , extracted it blah blah, and then ftp'd into my xbox to get the nessicary files. (c,d,eeprom).?. alright, i made the iso , burnt to a cd, and put it in my old pc.( i already formatted the 40gig, nothings on it). i hooked up the 40 gig, and turned on the pc.. it boots to the xbhdm screen , i hit option 1, it loads blah blah, i type in 'xboxhd' and it loads to the screen and says " the following drive was found on your primary master : WDCWD******. Could not access the drive on primary master. Your xbox drive is Locked!"

So im not to sure what to do , its a fresh new hdd, nothin on it, but it wont write any files to it ? do i have to unlocked the new hdd? if yes, how?!. its very frusterating, and if anyone could help me out that would be awesome.

Try doing a low-level secure wipe with DBAN, might help, surely couldn't hurt.

When you reach the "Call Customer Service" error screen, look in the top left for a number. A list of error codes and a brief explanation of what they mean can be found here.

Hope this helps!

I can't seem to find much info on the dreaded no number error screen.... you might have a corrupted file in your C partition.... try copying the files again or find an alternative source.... I don't think the MS dashboard files are keyed to one specific xbox or another, only the eeprom and HD key are unique

Have you tried using unmodded files... i.e. files from an unmodded xbox's C partition? You'll hafta reapply your mods, but that shouldn't be too difficult...

Also keep in mind, the E partition does not need any files for the xbox to boot. It will recreate all TDATA / UDATA, etc... once you've got your xbox booting, and mod it again, you can re-copy files, programs, etc.
