There's a very simple way to get movies onto your PSP: use AnyDVD (which runs in the background) and Nero Recode2 (which has a built-in PSP profile). Just connect your PSP, point Recode at the source, choose the PSP profile...and you're done. Recode sends the completed movie directly to the PSP and even creates the correct file structure and file names (make sure you check that box). Or you can send them to a folder for transferring to your PSP later. (Don't forget to set an appropriate thumbnail image so you can tell which movie is which on the PSP...the slider defualts to the middle of the movie, I just drag it back to the title scene and use that...)

You don't even really need AnyDVD, depending on what your source is, but it's often useful to have region coding and copy protection removed.

Of course AnyDVD and Nero aren't free. But you get what you pay for; AnyDVD is cheap and both are excellent value. Nero handles every concieveable digital media-related task. It took me awhile to be converted, but now I don't use anything else.

I forgot to mention: you can also use Recode to convert other video files, such as VOB files from previous DVD rips or home movies or whatever. Just point Recode wherever the files are stored.

Apologies for interupting, but I was reading this thread and there were a few people on the first page talking about larger memory sticks etc...

I found an attachable and detachable hard drive with 4GB.

Is there any program that can trim videos with, without having to re-encode the whole thing to export it? The reason I ask is because I have a mp4 video file that's 470mb and I only have a 512MB memory stick...and as you all know you only get 468MB in actuality. I just need to get the file down by about 4MBs.

is there any way to encode a movie to the psp screen's full resolution (480X272)? most people seem to be encoding it to 320X240.

your way is ok except psp video 9 doesnt support iso so the iso has to be converted to mpeg and the only FREE program i could find was Eazy VCD but even that will only take the info off a disc.

I have firmware version 2.01 RIght out of the box i formatted my memory card and it setup these two main directorys

MP_ROOT
PSP

within the MP_ROOT directory it setup two subfolders 100ANV01 and 100MNV01

iv'e read on a zillion webpages (including this one) how to rename my MP4 files and getting them into the right folder.

I've followed the directions for renaming my MP4 files (and THM thumbs) and placing them in the 100MNV01 folder --

yet when i go to VIDEO on the PSP it says there are no video files.

What am i doing wrong??

Has Sony updated the whole, you peoples can only put 320x240 video on the screen.

The purchase videos look gorgeous, some because of the 1.8GB UMD to have some increased AVC bitrates, but alot because it's running at the native resolution.

Will they ever fix this or have they?

Also, has anyone heard of we'll ever get some file organization in the music folder? I'd use the PSP more if they would organize the music files. The possible audio processing capabilities of the PSP look promising too.

Anecdotal, by my definition, it's the way too many people here think. It's also all the evidence you have.

My advice: Wait for PS3.

When you play the video on PSP it's naturally quiet because of the PSP's speakers.

When converting with PSP Video 9 there is an option when configuring a new or existing profile to increase the sound output by up to 200% I think.

Hi guys... I have read the guide and I just have one more question: Will the ripping of an original DVD affect the DVD in any way? I mean, once you have used the DVD Decrypter, Will the original DVD be affected by it?
