I converted different AVI files to M4V00027.MP4 and copied it over to the psp. It says Unsupported Data, then when I try to play it, its says "This video cannot be played. The data type is not supported." I've already used PSPVideo9, Cucusoft PSP, as well as Xilisoft 3GP Video Converter and it keeps saying the same thing. I'm using firmware 2.0 and haven't downgraded yet... any thoughts about whey it's doing this and what I should do to resolve it? Thanks in advance.

Personally i never use pspv9 i find it's rather slow, you can either try changing the profile or you can try something else like Nero rencode which is good as you can pretty much pick the size you want, 3GP_Converter is pretty fast, you can find it at the site below. (i think 3gp requires QuickTime)

I tried following the instructions for psp ripping and I have one problem. I only get half of the movie, of course it's something that i'm doing wrong if it works for everyone else. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know if there is a way to combine separate dvd files into one file so they can be converted into a single MP4 file?

guys who are having problems i think i figured it out. i tried ripping a movie for a trip about 6 times before finally finding the problem. rip the movie in dvd decryptor like listed in the instructions. when encoding with psp video 9 i set it to 320x240 768 bit rate 29.97 fps 16:9 ratio 128 kbps audio and 48000hz. then transcode it (at first i was trying to transcode at 368x208 and i would get a file size of 0 when everything was done).

after it transcodes my movie would be named MAQxxxx.mp4 it was placed in the 100ANV01 folder (not the MNV folder). if this happens DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. transfer the file as is to the exact same place on the psp mp_root>100anv01>MAQXXXX.mp4 . if you try and switch it to the mnv folder and change the name to M4vxxxx you will get a message on the psp saying unsupported format.

so basically if your movie transcodes into m4vXXXX.mp4 put it in the 100MNV01 folder if it gets named maqxxxx.mp4 put it in the 100ANV01 folder.

it depends whether you converted it using MPEG4 or H264. if H264 then you should put it in ?###ANV##?subfolder in MP_ROOT. if converted using MPEG4 then you should put it in ?###MNV##?subfolder in MP_ROOT.

If you try converting at a higher bitrate than the actual input file, you may get this, also pspvideo9 sometimes has a problem converting WMV, but i still wouldnt use any other converting software
vid9 all the way.
