you have to format with NTFS first to create the partition, because windows doesn't like creating really large FAT32 partitions... then the USB client reformats with FAT32...
I'm not sure what it does if theres no games... it probably would say no usb device connected because there wouldn't be a config file for it to load..

Xafier, you beat me to it!! My page was just about to go live also!! Good work though, means no more useless downloads!
Oh well, another project in the bin!!
Regarding the NTFS thingy, usbextreme will not recognise the drive if it is ntfs, only picks up FAT32. If you have no games on it i am sure it says no games listed! I did this a while back so cannot be 100% sure

I agree with Crumbs! Thanks to this thread i now know a lot more about usbextreme i would never have known!!
Xavier, could you add a order by date added, or view latest additions, just is a bit annoying to find the new working games, have to trawl the list all the time. Just a suggestion

dbiscuit, I actually have a page similar to that myself, it's just something quick and dirty though so I can basically see any records that wern't added by myself in reverse date order... allows me to amend peoples spellings and remove duplicates easier...
but I'm sure I can knock up another sort option to allow latest additions... say a drop down box with games added today, yesterday, 2 days ago, 3 days ago?

OK it's done :) like 15mins work hehe... you can now view games:
Added Today
Added in last 2 days
.... 3 days
.... 4 days
.... 5 days
I think thats enough options personally, I can't imagine more than 5 days being needed as most peeps these days are online most days... lol

Could someone let me know if I've done something wrong. I formated correctly using the instructions. I've copied both GTA:SA and Mercenaries over to my hdd. However when I try to load them it goes to a black screen and nothing happens.
If anyone has any information on this it would be great because I have seen that both Mercenaries and GTA:SA are supposed to work. Again this is the NTSC version of USBextreme and they are US games.

Check the format of your HD. I found that USBExtreme formatted it NTFS, which doesnt work. Ensure it is FAT32!
Do you get the screen where it lists the games?

If it lists the games then this leads me to believe that it is in the correct format else it would not load at all.
Are your games direct rips of the games, or have they been modded, ripped in some way?

I got USB MAXTOR 250GB and using USBAdvance1.Cracked-PS2Scene which is same as USBextreme (same shit). In case created 2 partitions 125 GB each (something like this), but I think doesn?t matter in this case. Formatted first partition with ul_format as request, and installed games with ul_install. Working fine, but of course some games just won?t play (like God of War). Still waiting for some clues what to do?
/// usbextreme is compatible with ALL PS2 and PSTwo consoles
/// so I thik you doing something wrong with formating
ps2 - working
ps2usb -working
pc - working
usbhdd - working
usbcable - working
what else? :)

It must be the DVD itself.
It's so simple...how can i do it wrong?:S
Just made a the usb hardrive ntfs by formatting in Windows, then did a ''ul_format I format''. then installed both tekken 5 and 4. Tekken 5 (download) using Deamon and tekken 4 (retail) using the pc dvd-player.
PS. Usbextreme is the PAL version cause i live in Europe (the netherlands) and 1 ps2 is model 30004 the other model 50004.
I think i'm gonna send it back, but the i can't play my backup games
:( I hope the guys who selled it to me confirm it doesn't work with them either (ill get a new one then :D)

Has anyone been able to get PRince of Persia: Warrior WIthin to work on the HDD? I saw on Xafier's USB Extreme website that someone had and was just curiour if any of you guys were able too. I've tried multiple times but have yet to get it to work. It'll load, but has no sound and freezes at the Ubisoft logo.

you can identify a games files by its SLEC/SCES id in the filenames... or if you don't know it just open the ul.cfg file in a hex editor and find the game and 32 bytes later the id will be shown
