The rip with anyDVD6518 was good. However when i tried to make the back up in CloneDVD I got a copy that took about 30 seconds to load to the start menu(which I have set to go to movie in AnyDVD.)I didn't watch it. I was also doing a copy with Nero Recode that does load and play like it was set to do. Both were movie only discs at 97% comp.
@ZOSO
Did you try to play the clone version? Did you have same problem as I?

Anydvd 6.5.1.8 with Recode2, burned with Imgburn. Main Movie only. Piece of cake.
Just for giggles, ripped Main Movie with DvdFab 5.2.3.0 without any problems.

I'm still working my way into it. I'm so familiar with Shrink and the in's and out's; it's comfortable. I'm still messing with Recode 2 trying to learn it as thoroughly as i know Shrink. Thus far, it does a good job.
@Dialysis...no, not a challenge this time around. :(

I prefer Recode over CloneDVD. And Recode gave me a copy of SV that played right off the bat w/o the 30 sec delay clone gave. Zoso maybe newest AnyDVD upgrade will fix that problem but recode didn't have a problem. And I watched the whole twisted movie and it was flawless. Pretty violent there. Bring on SVI!
@Binkie
Did you rip with AnyDVD or just open SV in cloneDVD and work it that way? I rip it with Any.
Just tried the clone disc in a Toshiba combo TV-DVD and it played the same way-delay. The stand alone was a panny upconvert-delay also.

Just opened in CloneDVD and saved it to my hard drive that way while burning. I might try re ripping tomorrow/tonight and run it through FixVTS or vobblanker. May just use the files I already ripped.
Glad you saved me from trying it on another player :)

@ZOSO
I got a perfect backup with Nero recode. I've watched it. No need to do it again with anything else. This is one reason I prefer Recode. It works better in MHO. This time I used CloneDVD to just get rid of everything easily except the movie. It left something on the disc that loads before the damn thing will play-Recode doesn't.

I tried the ripped files through vobblanker &fixvts - didn't help - in fact vobblanker made the 'pause' longer it seems (?)
Txs Garmoon -I'll give AnyDVD and Recode a go.

Since the release of Saw III and Saw IV, I never thought to see the next DVD release so simple in protection (as far as I can see, there isn't a shred of Copy Protection on the disc).
Saw V was released today January 20, 2009 in Canada. With the latest version of AnyDVD (AnyDVD 6.5.1.8) CloneDVD2 (CloneDVD2 2.9.2.0 (used only to remove the unwanted files)) and DVDShrink, I was able to copy the movie in full with no problems. Even the latest stable version of DVDFab HD Decrypter (DVDFab HD Decrypter 5.2.3.0) and DVDShrink was a cinch. When the ISO was created, I used Nero 7 (not the later versions like 8 and 9 as they are pretty much garbage) to burn to disc. Thus a working copy was made.
But for those that might have issues backing-up, you may have gotten a bad pressed disc, out-of-date software, the drive used to copy the disc is faulting, the media used to burn the image to is crap (I suggest using Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Fujitsu, Verbatim or Kodak DVD-R's. The DVD+R format with some players aren't very compatible if not compatible at all.
ahhhhh!!! cobras

Dvdfab ripped just fine. Fixvts, then Dvd Shrink, and burn with Imgburn. I have not had the chance to watch the backup yet to see if it has the same load time or pause that has been mentioned. Will check soon.
Some assembly required.
