OMG vikz99
This isn't a forum for rent and rip discussions - you are just giving us WAY too much info.
Yes these stores do - they even have a tracking device :)

On a serious note - why won't DVDFab rip it? I just used the free version. Did you turn on PathPlayer?
AnyDVD can just run in the background with something like DVDShrink or Nero Recode.
Or you can rip with AnyDVD - right click on the red fox in the system tray. Now pick 'Rip Video DVD to Hard disk', pick where you want to save it and click 'copydvd'.
Once done ripping open those files in Shrink to compress to fit on a single disc and burn w/ ImgBurn.

vikz99 you might try CloneDVD2 along with anyDVD running in the background. You definitely should use the latest version of anyDVD and restart your puter when you install. JM2¢ on the matter. ;)
Oh IIRC if you haven't already used anyDVD or CloneDVD in the past you can use the "free 21" day trial to see if you really like it. IT used to be the full version but as I have anyDVD and very seldom use it I don't know what they offer now. :P

You are getting a read error which could be due to dirt/smudges/scratches etc or a bad press.
Try cleaning off the back of the disc w/ something non abrasive in a non circular motion.
Try ripping from another drive if you have one.
I'm guessing here that you enabled PathPlayer and are receiving some type of read error w/ DVDFab.
All else fails exchange it for a new one.

@Binkie,
the men in black are coming after you, you told him about "The Chip"
Quote: Yes these stores do - they even have a tracking device
Right now they are accessing his online rental account information, pinging the chip to see how many times it has been copied/ripped, and then pinging the burned blank disks so that they can collect all of his friends and have a grand time down at the central processing station waiting for his interrogation by the "Central Scrutinizer"
@Vikz99,
You may want to Google travel agents who specialize in late night trips to countries which don't extradite back to the USA and have cable TV service. Wear a Groucho Marx moustache when you go, it fools the biometric spy cameras in airports and train stations.

Damn no where is safe - I would have thought the internet was anonymous :D
@vikz99
I don't know if Australia has extradition w/ the US - probably - but they have tougher laws then the US on piracy - just a fyi.
And like ZoSoIV pointed out Blockbuster does sell movies.
edit: almost forgot - love the post blivetNC - too funny :D

And for my last burn of Saw V, ImgBurn had no trouble backing up an AnyDVD Rip to files to a Verbatim DL 2.4X with an Optiarc-NEC 7200S. Sweet!

Saw V was an easy backup - boy I can't wait for Saw VI and just think Saw VII is probably only 2 years away. If you get any undercover info on this let me/us know. By the way I am Beta testing the new Windows OS 7 and so far with the limited drivers available the only thing I can get installed to rip Saw V has been AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. I put DVDFab on it but not the pro version. So far I haven't had any luck ripping with DVD Fab - I think I stopped it when I realized I don't have Nero for Vista/or 7. Jack

I installed Windows 7 beta on the kids computer downstairs and it rips and burns everything so far in my arsenal, AnyDVD, CloneDVD, Nero 7.10.1.0 , IMGBurn, DVDDecrypter, Ripit4me. Have not used DVDFab yet.
Hope this helps, the kids like it, they call it "Shiney" due to the eye candy all ovet the GUI. I'm still a fan of XP though.

Thanks blivetNC it does help. The only thing stopping me is how it expires in August then I have to install XP back again. Just being lazy I guess - reformatting is so time consuming and I never sit still for long :)
edit: To keep it on topic - Saw would have been a decent test for Windows 7 imho.

@gm - he he :D
Yeah I think someone needs to start a thread in the Windows forum w/ some pics & feedback of Windows 7 - for us 'on the fencers' to make a decision.
(see gm I changed it from lazy to on the the fence for us :D)
Hmmm there maybe a thread there I just haven't looked - naughty mod me :)
But once again back on topic :) Even though per usual I saw Saw in the theater I watched my AnyDVD and Shrink back up the other night - play back was great. The bad choice though was eating dinner watching the beginning of it - just a little lose of appetite :)

Hi everyone, Im new here and wanted to say HI.
I also had problems backing up my copy Of "Saw V" the only thing I could do was the main movie and it took me hours to get it right. After my first rip and burn when I put it in my DVD player it started 55minutes into the movie and began jumping around.
So, I used anyDVD with shrink (which put me way over the target size). I ran the files through fixVTS and again used shrink to get it to the target size then burned with recode (nero 8) and it played fine. overall took me about 6 hours to get a back-up copy...and I have less hair LOL
