if people are looking for romz, try searching for them on bit torrent networks, such as torrentspy.com. i have downloaded packages using bit torrent that contain a ridiculously huge amount of games. i have this one package that is a 3GB set of rar's that unpacks to over 10GB of super nintendo romz, we're talking every game ever made for the system including ones only made in certain countries, and there are many versions of most games, and all kinds of mods of games. i dont know if this package is still being seeded by someone, but you can prob find something. not too long ago i downloaded a package of a GBA emulator and about 2 GB worth of games. you're best to look for big packages like this instead of looking for rom sites that may or may not have your game. romz can be hard to find too. actually i just checked torrentspy.com and there are some pretty big rom packages for download for a fair number of systems including a 10GB MAME package.

any word yet on the GBA emulator? im dieing for that to come out...if it does...i have so many GBA roms to play

Hi guys, im still pretty new to the emulator scene but i have a question to ask.
i have had my ps2 modded for about a year now with a magic 5 chip and have been having no probs with it ...until recently.
i've been playing WOW since it came out therefore my consoles(ps2,Xbox.halo.ver,gamecube) have been neglected aside from the one or two games that i've bought recently :(
Yet now that i've found these links im getting back into playing with my ps2. so here's the prob i can get snestation to work once out of 20 times of restarting my ps2...arghhh. it plays dvd back ups fine but it just turns into a red screen when i put in the cd-r ocasionlly it works though, it also doesn't want to load my ver. of hd loader..so should i just get a new ps2 or is this common?
any help would be greatly appreciated

the problem is probably fixable. have you ever been able to play cdr's in your ps2? like ps1 backups or ps2 backups of cd games? its possible that the one connection needed for playing cdr's was not connected properly the first time and you just didnt notice because you just played dvd games. its possible for wires to come loose too.
as a side note, regardless of whether you can get it to work or not, i dont know why you would bother buying another ps2 just to play emulator games. you likely have a computer with some controllers, so why dont you just use that? in addition, if you like the ability to play on your console so you can play on tv and take it with you places, you can just buy a cheap old laptop that is capable of playing most old-console roms. i have played ps1 emulators on really shitty video cards (you can do it on a 32bit GeForce 400MX, a card that you cant even buy new anymore, and if you could it would cost like 10 bucks). so anyway, the idea is that a cheap used laptop would play most emulator games and would be portable like the ps2 and would be no hassle. if you dont have controllers, all you need to do is by a couple pc ones, or you can even purchase those USB controller converters that allow you to use you ps2 controllers on pc. all you gotta do is hook up the laptop to a tv and you're golden, you can just treat it as a portable emulator player, just like with the ps2, except far less hassle.

Well i figured it out.. it turned out that the hard drive that was the problem. i took it out and everything boots fine. except for the hd loader which was a torrent ver. but i dont think it was cracked because it goes into FSOD (frozen screen of death). oh well the hdd i have came with ffx1 so maybe i just need a different one anyway thanks for the help.

hey guys i have a quick quest. i would also really like emulators for my dreamcast b/c my little bro has it and i want him to have the other games as well. anyone know where i can get emulators for the dreamcast system(still kicks ass in my mind)

gba emulator is not available... in the programming stages... but going slowly. a lot of people have been asking about it, be patient.
pcsx2 is the follow up to the original pcsx (playstation emulator)... i personally have not used it, but know people who have and they love it. certain emu fans say its the only one worth using (not my personal opinion, im just stating what ive heard).

hey yall you might want to no while searching for info on loading roms from the ps2 hd ive come across a program that kinda does all
plus plays mp3 jpg, divx,snes roms and genesis roms,and loads the hdloader for the ps2
if interested private message me----or email me and i will send the .rar file its 12 mb with instructions its pretty cool
not perfect but does alot of things for just one cd
for use with swap magic,slide tool,chip only

i knoiw this might be a little off topic but can some one answer this?
is there an emulator that i can use to play xbox games in my pc if i have a good graphics card?

i dont think there is an emulator for Xbox on PC as of yet..if there even will be...but if there is, im sure it does not work just like the faulty PS2 emulators

If your a noob and want to just play genesis roms or snes roms with out doing any research, search the forum for stinkys cd. He made up a CDr with a few tools on it with a genesis and snes emu, or do what i did and add another bunch of emus to it. Tooo bad couldnt get it to work on DVD-r all emus and games one dvd :-D ... :-( If its no longer hosted send me a pm

Hi all im new to the emulator on ps2.(ive ben working with roms sience 1998 and made 3 emulators(i wont mention them there old and arnt up to date))a page that isnt tottaly illegal is romnation.net and also try out eZROMS.com it is a program u download. after download of eZROMS you can open it and as long as internet connection is on you can download TONS of non illegal roms for alot of old systems like 7 old systems with who knows how many roms.Also i was reading this throuhg and i think its cool to play roms on ps2 (ive got nearly 25 GIGs of emu/rom crap on my comp)and ive read this thread through n was wondering A:)am i going to need a modchip B:) can i use my SONY HDD with ffxi (i deleted FFXI from HDD btw so its nearly clean) C:) if i can use my HDD will i need HDloader/HDA or with a modded ps2 do i need anything els but CD's w/ emulator/rom stuff on them. D:) where the thread with the AR Max trick to get burnt cd's to work E:) can i use the AR Max trick (if not id still like that one thread) and last F:) do DVD's work....... ALL awnsers are appreciated also if i can conjure up enuf info im thinking of getting back into makeing EMU's and if i can get a good understanding of how the PS2 emu thing works ill make a N64 emulator for ps2. i dunno if i have the right to say but try limiting the talk of WHAT rom's u dl for instance sonic is highly illegal and if a member of a orginization see's this it may cause a small problem for afterdawn (N64 and Dreamcast ROM web's get closed down faster then put up cause there still in licenced aggreements. Thank you for reading this the faster u get me awnsers the faster ill work on the emulator ^^

bueno..I can help a bit with this question. I use snestation and pgen with my modded ps2 (magic v chip) i just burn the emu with the rom list and it works, as far as hd loader or advance i have hd advance and a sony hdd (ffxi one) i can get snestation to load the emu but you need to put in the cd at the change disc screen, for your rom list. i hope this helps.
