@novicebb, YES!!!
ahem, yes it is. i have played various roms usig the PGEN emulator and was able to use save states and everything flawlessly. the only complaints or things i think should be added, would be the ability to use more than one save state and a soft reset that brings me back to the PS2 browser. go get it, use it, and let nostalgia come over you.

@phyco. the first thing you'll want to do is the "memory card exploit" if you have not done it already. there are various tutorials here in the forums, you just have to look for them. another site that i got info from is http://www.exploitstation.com. after you get through reading around, you'll find your answers. my equipment list: PS2 v7 (39001), 200GB seagate hdd, codebreaker 8.1, retail HDAdvance, 32MB usb flashdrive, 16MB max memory MC.
the short version: use independence compiler to get my files ready. ps2 savebuilder to setup a codebreaker save. copy the save file to USB. use codebreaker to copy from usb to MC. after that, use trigger disc to get exploited. i used launchelf (file browser) to copy other files and stuff from USB to mc or HDD.
you having swapmagic and fliptop will come in handy for other stuff that applies to ppl who have those things. just read.

I am new to this, I am going to be getting a mod chip installed in my PS2 soon that can play homebrew games, if someone would add me to their MSN, Yahoo, or AIM and help me to learn how to do the NES and all of that I will give you a free copy of Alcohol 120, that is all I can offer. I really want to be able to play NES and SNES games on my PS2.

Thank you so much, and hopefully someone will help me with this.

You don't really need help at all dude, I was a newb for a long time to.
But most of the better emulators come with documentation, or on the designers websites they have helpfiles on how to install.
Go to www.zophar.net, they have good help files their, and all the latest emulators.

I understand everything but how to use a compiler program such as GoodSNES, I am not good with Dos at all, so if someone could add me to MSN or whatever and talk me through that I will give you the same reward as before, I just want to be able to learn how to do all of this, or you could just point me to a compiler type utility like GoodSNES that runs like a regular windows program where I just drag and drop I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much

I still really don't get the whole thing with burning it, can I just put the roms right next to the emulators in their own seperate little folders and be set, or do I have to do something complicated with it, and I have Nero 6 so couldnt I just burn it as a bootable CD and be set, or do I have to change all the joliet and such because I dont know where those options are located at on this program.

I think you can put roms anywhere you like in a folder on your cd, but generally you have to refer/link to there location somehow, ie with a textfile.
If the emulator has a preference in a title for the directory they'd tell you in the documentation.
With Nero, don't use startsmart.
Use neroburning rom "nero.exe".
I don't know what version I use.
I start that and you get all your options, I choose cd from the drop down menu.
Then in the list underneath I pick cdrom (iso).
Then to your right there is a whole heap of options, tab'd into catagories.
Under the "Iso" tab there is a list of options with drop down menu's.
To choose Iso, Go to the tab marked by the text left of it as "File System" then pick "ISO 9660 + Joliet"... and that will make it a joliet... right?

If you could find me a SNES rom compiler for it, where I can put them all in an iso style format I would be very happy and I will still hook you up with Alcohol 120, I just need a rom compiler, that is all I need now.

I have the a mod chip installed on my ps2 that nue64 pro lite or something. I was wondering if someone could tell me how to get the the emulators to run on my ps2. Do i need a hard drive? I read this entire thread to come out more confussed then before i came in here.
If you don't need a HD can someone type up a step by step information guide for all us new guys to follow. I know how to burn ISO's and all that other stuff. I just need to know what software i will need or hardware(HDD). How to arrage it on the CD/DVD.
THANX!!

phyco: need hdd for what?
digitalg: you will always come up to a dead end for dreamcast emulation ON the ps2. the PS2 doesnt have the graphic processing power, or the CPU power to emulate the Dreamcast. if i'm wrong about that, then prove me wrong. GBA was in the works, but i havent heard anything about it in months.
