Good I'm glad I am not the only one, I mean come on, there is a permenant page on G4's site for how to fix a Dre on a Ps2, seems like a common problem if that is the case...And that fix does not always work either.
I cover my bases...
1)Xbox w/xecuter 2.6 solderless
2)Ps2 (slim) w/DMS4 Lite
3)Ps2 V7 w/DMS4 Lite and 200 Gig Maxtor HDD
4)GC w/qoob pro

@ pressed u got 3 friends that bought a new one? about 12 of my friends that gotta 360 before christman(and me) had to bring our 360 broke mine over heated and broke 2 of my games, i mean now u have to buy a fan for your 360 to get it to work right that is terrible quality, or u need a charge kit for your controller. that is just terrible i dont think u guys realized how pissed off that makes me when u gotta bu a new fan WTF?

I got my 360 in January, and it sits on my drawers huddled under my monitor - against the wall. There isn't a great deal of space for air to circulate, but it doesn't crash or cause problems. It hasn't stressed me one bit..

Ok fine then Ms sux too on quality, but so does sony. I just have seen more people get some kind of satisfaction from MS when they have a defective console, where as sony says "tuff $hit buy another one so we can sell another 100 million".
And you have a 360 so there must have been something that drew you in. I bash sony all day long but have yet to buy any next gen til a game i really like comes out. Well plus, i'm getting Wii first cuz nintendo is p0wnZ haha.
Even my first 2001 November gamecube got Dre's, I adjusted the POT and it worked again, but I think all of them are susceptable, it comes down to who is more willing to stand by their defective console and sony looks the other way every single time.

Your missing the point.MS actually does something to help its customers when they have a problem.And as far as your story goes their are always problems with hardware at or around launch of consoles.My ps2 broke 3 times and of them being the slim ps2,thats poor quality when u have 6 years and still cant get it right.How bout you call MS intstead of getting the fan?im sure they didnt deny u and your 3 friends a fixin up considering ive seen far too many prasises on MS customer service and i myself had my system fixed.
Thats the thing about sonys 1yr warranty it seemed like they made their systems with intentions of them crashing a year aftert ehy relased or something because all of my systems worked for about a year then died out.I know they didnt actually plan the problem but to have to pay shipping and handling which ran me 40 some odd bucks for sony to deny fixing it is nonsense.Warranty or not they know their product was faulty and it has their name on it so honor your brand and do the right damn thing!theres no need to justify sonys HORRIBLE customer service seeing how its well documented.Im not trying to be a dick so if im coming off that way i apologize its just something that really pisses me off when Sony gets away with some real sh!tty things and still have all these loyal fans they d!ck over console after console and they keep on with the "SONY RULZ" mentally its just sickening.Its like seeing a woman whos in an abusive relationship thinking the guys gonna change...get the heck out of dodge cause it aint happenign and its not going to change when it comes to sony either.

the warranty didnt cover crap cause they denied me time and agian.from what ive heard sony unlike other companies instructed their employees to push people away and deny the problem had any sort of frequency and unless your the most persistent bugger known to man you werent getting your system fixed or replaced.

My PS2 was never faulty, not whilst under guarantee anyway - so I never got the chance to experience that :)

yes what has been said above is where I am going with this, you can have a warranty all you want but unless you threaten litigation over a $200 console ($300 if it was in 2000-2001) they are not going to easily honor it. Has anyone ever had their Ps2 break with a warranty and sony actually honored it without hassle? Now, has anyone had an Xbox or a 360 break and MS honored the warranty, or even replaced or repaired without a warranty? I think we'll have a clear winner here soon...
sony fan boys will never admit any of this and that is fine, sony loves them for buying multiple consoles when their first one(s) break.

the wii's sensory is a completely different type and reacts to motion a bit differently that you'd think at first. the ps3's is reletive to the controller and wherever you hold it it knows if its still leaning or not. theres a little bit of lag in tilt in the e3 movies, but they said it was a beta unit so i see that being fixed or there will be alot of sad ppl.
my friend had his ps2 repaired a year after warrenty had expired for free.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

hmm ps3 v. xbox 360 ....
winner = xbox 360
im not an xbox fan-boy nor playstation fan-boy...i own both
but yes ps3 will have better graphics...but for a hefty price....(and i heard some rumors that the "premium" package has to be run on HD but im not sure.) YES the ps3 puts out more power and whatnot...but the xbox 360 grpahics are also good..not as good as the ps3 graphics will be...but they are great...xbox 360 also has some power with it....all for a lower price and a little less power and graphics....so yeah ps3 is better graphics and power but more money....xbox 360 little less power and a little lower quality graphics so yeah im not going to stress it ......... BUY THE XBOX 360
im not a fan-boy for eaither i own the ps2 and xbox

and the questionable reliabiltity of the blu-ray format...its been delayed like 99 times already and sonys own player wont be out unitl october just one month before the ps3's release.
