Let me ask you this ... at this point what supplies do you have?
Do you have a Hard Drive? Network Adaptor? Swapmagic Discs? Slidecard? Fliptop? Modchip?
http://sksapps.com/hd/HDL_8B_ELF.rar is the one I use...

This is what I use to make a MC Exploit
http://sksapps.com/exploit/independencecompiler3.0.rar
As you can see everything is written in the program itself STEP BY STEP
Step 1) put your PS1 game in your Cd or DVD Drive of your Computer .. Select the correct drive in Compiler and press GET to read the title.db off the disc Next press ADD to Add it to the program
Step 2) you can just leave that alone on LaunchElF 3.4
Step 3) browse for the HDLOADER Elf file you d/l'd and ADD it
Step 4) Leave it Alone
Step 5) Choose your Region NTSC or PAL
Step 6) Leave it Alone
Output CD Installer YES
Press Start
Burn the resulting ISO with Nero and Boot with Swapmagic..If you run into any errors when installing it will be because you don't have enough room on your MC
Turn off your PS2 and insert your PS1 Trigger Disc
Turn on your PS2 and it should boot the Launchelf screen from here you need to config it to run HDLOADER
http://www.exploitstation.com/articles/launchelf_tut/launchtut.html The link above will help with that

Hey,
Been reading this thread and it kinda explained everything,
So this morning i took my old ps2 (that we thought had broke), opened it up, Cleaned the lens, and hey presto it worked.
So, now i have tried to put a hard drive in the ps2, yes works can hear it spinning,
But as you would know, that i can't use it without the program magicswap or whatever,
So i wondered if there was anyway to instead of the mc exploit, use a usb pen drive?
Or go into browser on the ps2, put a ps2 disk in so it sees it, then using my homemade-libary-card-slide-tool, open the drive swap the disks and then insert the backup. Would that work?
Basically i just wondered if there was anyway to do it without spending any money
thanks mike

You need to 1st open up your computer and install the Hard Drive
Use Winhiip to format it and install all the games you need to install
Follow the instructions I left to making a MC Exploit and you'll be all set

Have you read the help file in Winhiip? It's really easy, first you select the drive, then press format drive

have a look - it's at the bottom of the program
and just a reminder, this is not the first time you've double posted, mods don't like it, read the forum rules - use the edit button instead please ;)

Burn the Iso in Nero to a CDR
boot the CDR with your Swapmagic CD Disc and it will copy all the files to your MC ..
How many times do we need to explain this...

I have a couple questions about hdloader, hdd and network adapter. Ok I have swap magic 3.3, a fat V9 PS2 and a compatible hdd according to a weblink I followed. Do I HAVE to have a network adapter to run games off the hdd? I never even seen a hard drive inside a PS2 and don't know much about them. Do you need 1 to use the other I guess is my question. If I were to take the drive out of my pc and slap it in my ps2 would I be able to play games off the hard drive? Without a network adapter... don't want to buy one atm but if it's needed I guess I have no choice.

Well if all you need now is the Network Adaptor, you can find them for around $20

The TOC disc is an original PS2 game that has a big size. For example, Devil May Cry 1 and 2 have high TOC, Sonic Heroes, and a good other number of games. These 3 mentioned above have the highest possible TOC a DVD can handle for the PS2, so with those, you are almost sure to boot any backup you make without having to rebuild it to boot it (unless the game is DVD9).
PS2 V9 with Custom Flip Top
MC Exploit
ULaunchELF 3.78
HDLoader 0.8a with 160Gb Maxtor HDD
Nintendo GameCube DOL-001
XenoGC 2.0
POTS adjusted to 400Ohms from 496Ohms and runs everything thrown at it
If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

if your PS2 is modded then you shouldn't need Swapmagic

Ok heres my question...I already know how to put the games on the hard drive, and they are able to be played. My question is, can you play these games online off of the hard drive by patching like the image or something. Thanks
