ok, I have made a new exploit, it is available for download now, most people should have something from the list of id's in this one, there are a load of popular games, and HiJAK has not only provided over 200 id's (couldn't use all of them due to the amount of id's that can be put into a title.db), but he has also provided the names of the games they come from, so that should make it a lot easier to see if you have a game in the list

I could not find any Japanese games in the .max save files for Memory exploit.
Please, add below game IDs to the Max Drive's save files.
I have :
Console : PS2 (JAP) + Max Drive (16M)
Games :
SLPS_004.15 (Street Fighter Zero 2)
SCPS_100.14 (Beyond the Beyond)
Thanks in advance and welcome any comments...

First of all there is no easy way for us to just update those .max files, second the ones we made were for NTSC/PAL ONLY! we are not going to be making any Jap .max exploits anytime soon. you would have to provide us with around 100+ Jap game ID#'s in order to make this worth the effort and on top of that the exploit apparently does not work with most Jap PS2's so I am quite sorry to say your kinda out of luck. if your trying to play imports then you don't need to load a JAP exploit or need a Jap game, just go purchase a 5$ psx game (that's in our list of game ID#'s) down at your local Gamestop and use it to trigger our exploit there, and use one of the swap loaders in the exploit. but since you have a Jap console this may not be possible for you to do. =(
Well have a good day =)

I'm not sure, but if the jap ps2's are NTSC, then the exploit might work using one of the games in the id list, so if you can get hold of one of those it may still work, and like zan says there's no easy way to update the .max saves, 'cause at the moment the only way to do it is to make a new exploit, burn it to disc, load it to a mem card, then copy that to the usb pen drive, and that takes time and cd-r's.
btw for those who want it, I am making a hdloader exploit .max save, using the same id's as those in the last .max exploit save, it'll be up soon

Okay, I just read this entire thread and I'm so confused! I dont really know much about title.db's or sles or whatever, what I do know is that I have a PAL PS2, an action replay max, a usb drive, swap magic dvd 2.0 and dvdloader v7. Is there any way I can use all these things to boot one of my backups using the cheats from action replay max. Thank you.

Your just trying to boot a backup with cheats enabled? well...this thread kind of took a turn from it's original topic to being one of ps2 exploit's and running custom code on the ps2, you can load up the PAL exploit and benefit from the added software it comes with if you want. but as far as cheating on a backup copy...not sure really, but I do remember reading about that on this forum someplace.

Ok everyone, I have Action Replay Max Evo Edition and am having some problems getting these programs to work. I already got the MAX files (NTSC) created in this forum so that I could load up the KeyLauncher and programs and successfully put them onto my PS2. I can run everything perfectly fine...
However, my problem is working with FAPLink or ExecFTP. As the defaults are set in the config.dat files that were premade, I can't connect to my PS2 from FlashFXP or the FAPLink program. So what I'm hoping to do is re-configure the IP addresses in the config.dat files to match with the IP's used on my computer and network. Since I can't change the MAX file I downloaded, I'm attempting to boot up the .elf files on their own so that they can run the IP changes I'm making. But for some reason, it's not letting me boot up the .elf files from my MAX Drive when I run the media player. (The screen just goes black on nothing comes up) Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do or anyone have help with steps to take for running FAPLink or ExecFTP?

if mcloader is included in the exploit you can use that to add files to the mem card, from a cd-rom using the mem card manager, try the hdloader+ on my site if you don't have mcloader.

actually I find using the exploit found here http://ps2dev.org/files/ps2xme090b.zip is very useful for running .elf files on your ps2 from your pc. it comes with a .max explot along with others.
if you don't want to use that, then all you have to do is change your PC's ip address to 192.168.0.15 (15 or higher) then your connection to the ps2 will work with what your trying to do.

hey i just had an idea but unable to test because of lack of blank cds. the keylaunch .4 is compatible with booting ps2 backups. and the thing is the toc size doesnt matter. meaning the original game u used to trigger the exploit can be smaller than the backup u want to play and it would still work. my idea is using the backup as a toc disk for ps2 dvdrips. all u have to do is make the backup's disk id to the title thus, making the keylaunch launch again. after doing so the playstation would see a new toc size in the playstation then u can swap your ps2 backup in and boot via cogswap. the best thing to do is inject "junk" or "dummy" files into the ps1 iso before u burn it, try to full the cd. that way u could have the big ps1 game and a large toc disk size. :). test this someone.

I don't think it will work as the exploit only boots with psx id's, it would be the same as using an original ps2 game as a trigger disc, you can't do it, it's not to do with the toc size Quote: PS1DRV parses a file called mc0:/BXDATA-SYSTEM/TITLE.DB (the X represents the PS2's region code) to load graphic parameters for the PS1 game that was loaded from the disc drive. There is a catastrophic buffer overflow in the parsing routine that allows one to overflow the stack and execute arbitrary code by rewriting the $RA register.
If we load up our own TITLE.DB, with an entry for every PS1 disc that we want to trigger the exploit, then we can take over the
PS2 boot process as soon as the disc is recognized and PS1DRV is executed.

Sorry to be the dumb one but:
What is:
-Uncrushing? I have some idea that it is done by the maxdrive software.. can someone elaborate.
Also I bought the AR max cd and it came with the software and i plan to use my digital camera as the "max" drive. When copying the uncrushed files to your memory card do you do that in the Ps2's browser?
Thanks in advance
And I would like to congratulate everyone here on their efforts as without them we would all be stuck.
EDIT:
I copied the file i downloaded from matt long's website straight to the camera (usb mass storage device) and it appears in the "Maxdrive" software (it came with my AR Max cd) as "Your SystemConfiguration 02/10/04...." Now is this crushed or uncrushed and how do I crush or uncrush it and the ps2 is in use at the moment but i knows its a v7. When i plug in the camera should it show up in the browser.

ok first thing, usb devides won't show up in the browser, load up your ar max disc, go to the memory manager, you should see your usb device in that, but it won't show up as a camers, and not all usb devices work with the ar max, if it does show up go into it and un-crush the system settings save to your mem card

i know the exploit only boots with psx ids. thats why u add the psx backup id to the title. cogswap doesnt need to "see" a ps2 game in the system in order to boot a ps2 game. meaning if it sees a psx game, and u click x to boot it would still boot up the ps2 game.

a_l_e_x,
assuming you made sure you have a psx game with an id from the coresponding id list, you just use that psx game as a trigger disc to load the exploit
me_dont,
but you say the keylaunc will launch again from the ps2 backup's id, but I can't see how, as the exploit uses a flaw in the PS1DRV and you would be using a disc id from a ps2 game, I'm not sure about this one, when I get the time I'll try it out and let you know if it works

no not the ps2 backups id. the psx backup id. after it(keylauncher) launches again then u trigger cogswap and swap in your ps2 backup.

It appears the psx game i got does not execute the file. How do you make these .max files so I can make my own with the individual ID SCES_018.33
Is the way you make it compile the titles.db and whatever (exploit), burn it to cd then crush it into a max file using the PS2??
