You need the UMD DATA Bin though of the original street fighter.

hey guys.. im having a little trouble with movie files i dont really understand waht the problem is. its been reacurring. i use psp video 9 to convert a file into mp4 and when i upload and play for some reason there is always a problem when playing. it skips and lags. this also occurs sometimes for music files but not as often. i have v 1.5 and i have a 4 gb hard drive from datel. this never happened to me before when i had a 1 gb mem stick. as far as i know they are supposed to work the same. my games work fine w/o any difference from my mem stick. if anyone else had the same problems can you tell me if you fixed it or know of anyway to fix it? thanks

The 4gb HardDrive from Datel is not as fast as the small memory sticks High Speed Duos. Also it maybe a a transcoding problem, like its to high quality or if the file is way to big for the psp to handle. But mostly it would be the harddrive fault.

Hey,
Quick questions,
i have been reading about the PSP and I have backed up my two UMDs to ISOs so i can play via the stick (just got myself a 2 gig stick, sony, genuine as far as i can tell)
according to the article i read, when running via the stick due to the frequent calls to the mem stick...its life gets considerably shortened! is this true?
It does say 5 years warrenty on the box...but would rather not test that statement.
2. I am pretty sick of converting from X to mp4 format... how good is Video 9? Does it handle all the formats and any complaints against it?
Thanks!

2. Yeah I think it handles almost all formats.
I haven't had any problems with it, but some people are experiencing sound + video synchronizing problems.

Memory Sticks last longer and are meant to be used, if its suppose to be in your psp not getting used then whats the point of getting a memory stick if its not used, I have used my memory stick over and over, then only thing I think may can cause damage is keep sending and deleting files of a memory stick. But Unlikely chance, and you have a 5 year warrenty so its ok.

@eternalis - Thanks for replying.
I made a mistake, I was referring to PSP media player and not video 9.
Any idea about that?
@3dluis - I think having an ISO on the stick uses it much more than for example, using it in your camera to save pictures, or in a mobile phone (no idea if the duo fits in any mobile...but its an example)
You gotto remember that it was never Sony's intention to have any ISOs run off ANY memory stick...it was only supposed to be for gamesaves...which happens what....? ever 10 mins you are actually playing a game?
"the only thing I think may can cause damage is keep sending and deleting files of a memory stick"
Yep, I am sure moving 1.2 gig on and off every second or third day is not doing the stick much good.
I REALLLLLY dont want to test that warrenty, if it fries and I take it to a Sony shop they may tell me that the warrenty is void because it contains ISOs or some other 5h!t.
@IMMickeyD - I really doubt you can do it any other way, the 2.1+ explits are reallly new and you should be thanking your stars that anything exists for it...but your *only* other option may be the mod chip....but I'm no expert.
Cheers!

This dosn't really matter, but I bought my psp on ebay and wanted to know what fw it started at, so I don't have any letter on the box. Whats that mean?

@IMMICKEYD - Quote: is there anyway to avoid buying one, especially when theres a chance that "new gta's dont work"
Well, like me, I have friends who have psp's and the most likely game they'd buy would be GTA, so I just borrowed the game for 1 day and I returned the next. OR you could rent it from blockbusters or something.

Maybe the sticker got pulled off to not show you what letter it was. Or the psp was transported in the demo box.

I know your baned but if you read this, this will still be ok, Plug the USB cord into your computer and your psp. Then open your psp and go to the system then press X to go to the sub menu's, scroll all the way to USB connection and press X, the computer will automatically know the psp and set it up for ready transfering. Then you can transfer to and from your computer to psp and vice versa.

perhaps a glossary defining the jargon used on this forum would help peeps out..
otherwise, ppl are more likely to ask stupid questions.
(things like eloader = programm for ...; ripkit = ...; etc etc)

Also,
If you have firmware 2.5, and you downgrade to 1.5 you can no longer use normal new UMDs, right? Not without using Devhook?
so my real question is:
If you wish, would it be possible to upgrade your psp after downgrading it incase you find that using Devhook is a real nuissance?
