hey all,
I tried to backup soul caliber 3 using alcohol 120; it copied fine, but when it went to burn, about half way through it stopped and said there is a problem with the recording process...any suggestions?

I also tried burning a game i had previously backed up and it burned fine.

I tried starting over then, but when it came time to burn soul caliber 3 again it did the same thing. I am using imation DVDs any suggestions on why it may be doing this?
Thanks

Do you need that Swap Magic case on the PS2 in order for these methods to work, or is there another methed that allows you to play copied games on the PS2 without changing anything on your PS2?

@ToneZ

Read the thread, and you will find the answer to that. If you cant afford to sepnd $30 bucks for a swap magic combo you dont deserve to play backups.

@Rene

You will find that TY and Verbatim make all the difference. Please do tell if/when you see a difference due to the media you use.

@ReneB64, try supermediastore.com They carry TY media & sometimes you can Google to find their coupons. Usually once a month, a few dollars less. Buy 2 cake boxes at once to keep shipping reasonable. Consider it a long-term investment.

if you're a college student, do NOT settle with the RIAA http://tinyurl.com/37oz2z

@jimbo92 if u dont want a modchip u can get swap magic its easy if ur no good at the whole solderin thing.
DVD Decrypter will be better than Nero for burning the games.
dvd games will be iso's most of the time
cd games will be bin and cue most of the time.
not sure if the DVD-RW discs will work with the ps2, most of them like good decent DVD-R

Depends on what version your PS2 is, take a look in the link I posted, everything you need to know is in there.

Have a look around in places like http://www.modchip.com/ (http://www.modchip.com/ps2/magickeysorder.php , http://www.modchip.com/ps2/slidecard.php ), you can probably find cheaper places if you search hard enough (though I you'll get more than $5 cheaper than the one I posted)
