Enable DMA as suggested, but I see an issue in your log that's most likely your problem.
Here in this section:
Media Specific [16..63]:
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................
All those zeros indicate that the drive's firmware doesn't recognize the disks you're using, the ID should be displayed here, but it's not.
This could be why:
Recorder: <TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182D>Version: SB00
Your drives firmware is very old at version BB00, I looked it up at the Samsung site and found the latest version at SB06.
Here's the site if you want a look
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/search...hModelResult.do
Here's the download link for the update:
http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/do...-S182D_SB06.zip
Download, unzip/extract, run the file to update.
:)

Thank you everyone for your help. I've updated the firmware and turned on the DMA. I'll let you know if I run into any more issues.
Really appreciate it.
