You're correct Garmoon. Not that I doubted you ;) The Verbatim +R Life series appear to code as CMC MAG-M01-00. Oh well.... I'll get over it, or I'll have a brain aneurysm!

And another Lite-on/Asus bites the dust. Irritates the living crap out of me too! I've been trying to figure out why an MKV file that →I← created is all screwed up. Apparently the Asus/Lite-on DRW-22B2S that ripped the file from my backup disc, ignored a read error once again. As Lite-ons generally do to me :( With the exception of the LH-20A1H/S series drive.
Asus, if you want to better yourself again, please don't buy lite-on. They apparently have quality control issues!!! I'm about to throw the damn thing in the road! I've burned 10 discs with it this week. Wonder how those turned out...

Buy an LG mate. :-D Should read and write a treat for ya. ;)
Don't get me wrong.. I like LiteOn as much as Robert but they do have their issues lately. I'm NOT a fan of rebadged ODD's either but I have my fair share. lol. Try an LG Oman. I think you'll like the performance and the quality of "burn" it produces. ;)

Are you kidding? LOL! I have an LG BD burner. Smartest decision I've made yet! It burns everything I throw at it. It has a similar buffer action like the NEC drives. Curious ;)
I would buy an Optiarc/NEC in a heart beat! LG too.

Greetings everyone!
I was wondering if many of you guys are burning the newer JVC "Yuden" discs and, if so, what are they like? I'm presuming they code as YUDEN000T03? I've long since run out of the Verbatim branded YUDEN000T03 discs I used to swear by!
I can get a 50 spindle of JVC for apprx. £12 ($18.50) delivered, which is cheaper than what I have been buying lately (Sony 16x +R SONYD21, £17/$26).
Let me know your thoughts.

I bought 200 and a few were damaged-not JVCs fault. I've burned about 50 and have had no problems. Would buy more but don't know where to store them.

The JVC discs are every bit as good as genuine TY. Just a different name ;) I buy the TYG03 discs all the time, from Supermediastore.
Here's a Verbatim Life series +R disc. Burned at 8X via the 7200S. I'll likely steer clear of these discs in the future, but not too bad.

I can think of multiple reasons that can cause that. I've had a couple boards do that, due to bad Chipsets... Though there are other reasons that can cause that. I'll hope for an easy fix for yah ;)
What's the model of your computer Garmoon?

Dell XPS 63i -3 years old-not sure about the numbers. The tech was at a loss for what was causing the problem. Everything seem to be working, Device manager found nothing. Never had seen one freeze at that point.I turned the volume down as it tried to boot in that black window.I don't want to hijack this thread. I might start one if they can't help. 2oldgeek might be able to help. Does ok in safe mode! Thanks gary

This is the last thing I'll say. If your board is indeed the 630i, Nvidia chipsets are notorious for quitting. But if it enters safemode, that's weird. But the chips do become highly unstable. I suspect you may not have much time left...
Prior to quitting, they do act strange. Much like faulty memory, and cpus.

garmoon,
Try removing the chipset drivers and re-installing them! Safe Mode does not load drivers!
