hi there, im a newbie to the the blu ray scene , but not to video encoding. i am trying to convert mkv (h264) files to blu ray using nero. i am finding that its either taking a longgggggg time upwards of 10 plus hrs or that its crashing(nero). im using nero 9 and i do use tsremuxer if needed. is that a quicker more efficient method using nero, or any other program for playback on a standalone player. id appreciate any feedback. btw im using a pentium chip oced at 3.3 and nero 9 plus a buffalo blu ray burner which is 8x with a bdr, or 2x with bdre..tyvm in advance
Hi, I had a lot of problems doing this, so for now I found an easier and actually, a more practical solution. I had all my .mkv's on a couple of external 1TB hard drives. Instead of buying a video card, there's something made by Western Digital called the WD HD Media Player. You just plug your Hard Drive into the device, and it's able to play .mkv 720p/1080p(I have no 1080i files) to perfection! It plays them better than my ATI HD video card which has HDMI out! I got some lag issues with VLC player which is surprising because my computer is a beast! If you're trying to burn the files for others, then there's a method to do it using Dual Layer (DVD-9) for now, you'll need this program...
Now I know this does not answer your question directly BUT, I hope it can help because there are other alternatives than to burning the .mkv files, after all, DATA on a Hard Drive is the future, until the drive fails...I'm sure there will be a solution to that in the near future, hope this helped!
