Hi, I'm new to modding PS2s I have modded my XBOX sucessfully. My question is has anyone heard of the H20 mod chip and is it any good? I've seen it for $45 AUD so it's a cheapo... I only want to play my backed up games. The thing that interests me is that it has the SubZero fix built into the chip!

Ummm Just noticed the chip I mentioned in my previous post is on Pre-Order. So whether it hasn't been released in Australia yet or at all world wide I'm not sure.

I have not read the post by Glitched and do not know what he had said. So sorry for reposting its a bit long and its late hes Suspended permanently for some reason i just saw the last second

to bypass code protection its says in ps2 manual on mine its pg 52 on a v14
I have never tried it but u just press Select when asked for password and type in 7444. The following is from the manual
You can clear the password using the following procedure. If you are already playing a DVD and at the psssword confirmation screen, eject the inserted disc before following the procedure.
1. Start a DVD, and then stop playback
Clear Resume Play
2. At the control Pannel, select (one tool chest looking thing ,tool box) and press the "x" button
3. Select "Parental Control" , and then press "x" button.
The screen enter password is displayed. If the screen to a register a password is display, no password had been registered before. In this case, register a password.
4. Press SELECT button
the screen to clear password is displayed.
5. Enter "7444".
the registered password is cleared, and the screen for registering a password is displayed. Enter a new password.
Modding X-Box is alot eaiser than modding a PS2. Their pins are so small. H20 chips are also clones from the ICE code i believed im not sure but its one of those clone chip it has laser protection for v12 built in just solder more wires. Clone Chips do not destroy your PS2 or do damage to them they just use developers codes. I have nevered tried the H20 before so i cant give u information
sohan u can get mod chips everywhere online. Prices range from 20-55$. Depending on what u going o do on your ps2 some/most have emulators and stuff like that so u can run Super nintendo, nintendo...some old classics on your ps2 by downloading the games which takes really fast.( Divineo.com, mod-chip.com, modchip.com...) Try using Resellerrattings.com to see how ppl rate their sites. Also if u have never solder before u should send it in to the pro or get swamp magic but with swamp magic u have to burn them correctly and more picky of what they play.

dms4, Crystal Chip, & matrix infinity is the best chip all/most of the other chips are clones which means they just copy the ice code and made chips which arent as good quality but there are a few other two but not much u should buy from trusted sites like

Can someone help me please? Im looking to buy a modchip but dont know whether to buy one that has swap magic or just the modchip itself. I also want a chip that will allow me to play my online games. I understand some of the technical talk about the modchip but not all so i really dont know which one to get. Any suggestions?

Hey ssin I have not seen a manual to open a ps2 before there was a short one on mod-chip.com it wasnt the full thing tough. It says V 12 but there nuthing much different maybe a extra screw close to the USB but thats V14 not too sure about V13.

I dunno i wouldnt get the swamp magic since u have to patch the files which may take a while. And that swamping is a hastle but so are modchips until u sucessful installed them. Modchips on the other hand have to be installed and its waiser to play games online i would get the modchip and have a pro install it also not all chips can go online without patching it. Crystal Chip (hacked firmware) no need to patch the DN*S.

Well Divineo has a 5.71 rating from resellerrating so its not so good but i have heard alot of people said its a good site and i have made purchase from them. I had no problems from them u might want to read some of their reviews at http://www.resellerratings.com/seller7202.html Sometimes its the buyers fault not Divineos like the color of the HD combo u shuld of wrote it on the blank space during checkout. I dont think u should run in to a problem from them though.

i have phoned my local modder in australia and inquired about modding the slim line ps2's he said to me that he wont do them due to he garantees his work and modding slim line burns out the inside eventually. my ps2 is as i said slim SCPH 75002, is he talking S#!t or do i have to buy a old ps2?

Nah thats a V14 thats fine, only the V12 had problems. I have a V14 and got it modded along time ago works perfectly except for that overheating problem, but with the PStwo stand its alright

Can I just say that www.mod-chip.com does the best deals , ive just orded the dms4 pro se,
it an amzing deal with the chip you get a laserfix chip wich stops the laser on the slimline
models from burning out FREE! and you get a full pack of wires free! it was probably one of
the best deals ive seen! it gives you an amazing guide, really look at theyre website

yea mod-chip is a good site i didnt like their shipping method though. Mine was shipped in a UPS document envelope with no signature require.
MuS10: You will need something to convert the power and the video output from PAL to NTSC(Note this will not let u play US games only japnese games on the us). Or u will need a good modchip like the dms, crystal,matrix to do the PAL to NTSC conversion. But still would need power convertion. But u will be able to play all games from anywhere.

What has happened to dms ezi solderless chip. Every site I try to buy it say Out of Stock or discontinued. That chip worked great on V7 systems.
