i noticed when i downlaoded the new version of bittornado that it now comes with ports 10000-60000 open and randomized now. Did something change recently where its better to have these ports open now instead? I remember using this with 6881-6889 forwarded and unrandomized and it went alot faster than it does now : /

wow.. so many port to open i don't recommand that it's like leaving the key in your door when you go shopping...

did you try just let the standard port 6881 to 6889
and open a higher port range like 12345.
I think you just missread.
maybe they tell that you have to open 6881 to 6889 - and choose a random port betwin 10 000 to 60 000.

cause i already saw a post about this and it was just choosinf one of then not open all of them.

i'm already running like that 6881 to 6889 and 12345 are open for bit torrent it works really great.

i didnt set it to that or read it, it came wit hthose values as the default. I thought id just let it run for a bit and see if it picked up but it hasnt, 0 dl and 18 ul. Gunna switch it back to the 688s and see what happens.

On a side note, are speeds somehow related to wich ports you open? like are certain clients only listening in on certain ports or something? i never really understood.

Edit:
ha just changed it back to 6881-9 and my speeds are already 40x faster than before (it was going at 1 and now its at 40 haha). Stange i wonder why they made the default ports so screwy?
