I was wondering what the best settings for bittornado are

I have done a few things already

Doing dsl/cable fast, changing my max peer connections to no limit, disableing my UPnp port forwarding and changing my port range to 17000-17119 random

Now my main questions are ... are those the best things to do, is there anything else I can do, and is that the right port range? (I don't even know what port range is about)

I have windows xp and a SB5101 modem

I have 1 computer in the house

My

DL Speed is :591 kbps

Upload speed is: 48kbps

Thanks, I guess I understand the ports really don't matter.... I use 17000-17119 random....

But I REALLY don't get the UPnP port thing.... Does it matter??

UPnP is great when it works. Basically it makes it so you don't have to portforward. If you've got forwarding done correctly, you don't need to worry about it.

Disabled if you've already set up forwarding on your router and in the client.

Okay, I don't have a router

I have one computer plugged into a cable outlet and I get comcast. Do I still need to disable it or what. And do I need to set up a client or something??

If you don't have a router, you don't need upnp or forwarding.

You do need a client, uTorrent is best for noobs, I prefer Azureus myself.

Download the pdf from the first link in my sig if you need more help getting everything set up.

no client is any faster than any other if your settings are configured correctly.

azureus has a lot more features the tornado, but requires a stronger computer.
