It works it really works! thank you all, have just been cruisng around the streets of liberty on my crosser.
now next thing, how do i make the iso files smaller to get them on my ms (2gb) as they seem quite large.

Good evening everyone... well I must say this was an interesting process... I was doing everything correct until I read at the end where I'm not supposed to have a UMD in the PSP... in the following rules
"44.Wait
45.Now you should come across an error saying somthing like this [Game cannot be started] THIS IS COMPLETLY NORMAL
46.GUESS WHAT 1.5!!!!!
47.Check SETTINGS>>>>SYSTEM SETTINGS>>>>SYSTEM IFORMATION to check if you have a 1.5
YOU ARE NOW FINISHED "
I did wait.. I waited for about 1 min, and then my PSP just shut off, thats when i kept reading that Im not supposed to have a UMD in the PSP... So then I reset it and when i tried to go back to the firmware it said "[Game cannot be started]" then i went back to System Settings and it stilll says 2.71
and did the following procedures
Now I go back to the Photos Folder, load that folder, and then it resets, then i go to where I have to load the 1.5 Emulater, then I clicked on 1.5 and pressed start and i waited again, it shut off...
Now I Am stuck...
Any suggestions?

pspjunior THANK!!!! I didnt put it in the 150 folder... And then it booted to a yellow background and it said 1.5 THANKS!!!!!! Now I'm waiting for the damn 2gb memory stick to come in so i can load up these ISO's... and then i will have more problems and I will need everyone's help again! haha

when I select the iso and then start, psp just went "home". Any help on why the game didnt load? Thanks.

First off thanks everyone who helps here. I got my psp working fine now. 1 question though. So many games now require 2.81. Is there anyway to play these on my 2.71 system with devhook and hen?
I'm all over that like a donkey eatin a waffle!

just change the ufo version to 2.xx to 2.00 in the devhook menu
for me these two games works with this.
gta:vice city stories and ace combat X

dose it work on 2.80.
i have a psp that came with 2.50 but i updated to 2.80 can i do the same thin or there is another solution for me?

Hogget. I been using a program called UMDGen v3.50.
I open the iso file with it and delete the pad0.pad file in there. Then I save as a new iso file. It usually shrinks it down small enough to fit on my 1 gig card. Seems the pad file is not needed and just taking up space.
I'm no expert but it's been working for me

Ok just 1 more question.
I used the easy installer and it worked fine. There are no FW dumps for any FW except 2.71 and 1.5. How can I add the other FW dumps? There are folders for them but no firmware in them?
I guess I'm still trying to figure out how to play a game that requires 2.81? A step by step would be nice.

you cannot play games that are 2.81 right now and no u cannot do this on a 2.8

you can play these games that are 2.80 or 2.81.i played GTA:vice city storiesworks like a charm.ace combat X works too.
GTA : VICE CITY STORIES
if you want the game,u will have to find it in
Gamestorrents.com size is 387mbrar UMDRIP ONLY.
OR
blackcats-games.net around the size of 780mbrar fulliso,actual size is 1.7gb or more
it does not matter if u have dark_alex devhook or chunglams devhook,to make it work.and yes it uses 2.81 firmware but their is a way to play it in our 2.71 firmware devhook.
get the game then do these settings in devhook menu,
firmware : 2.71
UFO VERSION : 2.xx to 2.00
remember to enable HENC,but it really does not matter.
Enabling HENC Lets you go back to devhook but if u disable HENC,u will need to HARDRESET your psp to get out of the current firware devhook.

wut up PSPjr
I got GTA LCS to work on my memory card but i want to be able to play the multiplayer with my friends PSP that has the original umd in it but everytime we try mine loads faster than his and we get disconnected at the last second. is there a way that i can slow down my loading time or maybe speed up his so that we can be able to play each other??? so far ive tried turning the power and winlan switch on and off, pushing start at the beginning to maybe lag time, opening the umd disk really fast and then closing it, and i tried taking out the batteries during loading time. None of these methods worked. What can I do???????

to tell you the truth...i dunno how u can purposly lag a game but mybe ask kealvalro..he just might kno

I download the Killzone cso from mininnova.org, that stupid
game just wont load. The preview starts under the game option
but once i click on it, it wont load up it says "The game could not be started (8002012D) whats that all about ? please help.
also everytime i download an iso/cso its usually one file once i unzipp it so i just drag it on my pc, then into the psp. but today i download winning eleven 9, and that had alot of files once i unzipped it all of them where the same size but i didnt know what to do. I copied one of them into the psp. the preview screen loads and then it says the same error message. what should i do ?

tomic4585 if u are using dark_alex devhook then i am not sure how to do it but if u are using chunglams devhook then to play killzone inthe devhook menu just disable HENC and boot 2.71 then you can play the game,good luck

Hi Guys,
I'm new here, i've been reading the FORUMS almost 2 days now. I've bought the white psp in Hong Kong Airport last saturday. I'm from Indonesia. Now I've FW 2.71 TA0-82 PSP, I'm planning to do the stunt tommorow. Please help me if there any trouble happens, since i'm trying to understand all the process, thx

To get 2.81 games working try this.
change the UMD SFO in Devhook to (2.XX>2.00)
It works for me with GTA VCS as well as PSP - ATV Offroad Fury Pro both of which require 2.81 FW
Thanks to devildoll for this info in another thread.
