First of all, DL can be interpreted as either Dual-Layer or Double-Layer.
Second of all, I already wrote what is the recommended speed to burn.

So I followed all the steps and popped the dvd into the xbox for it to only to show me the xbox 360 logo on the screen. I could pull up the controls for the dvd player but thats it. Any ideas? I'm not sure which MOD i have since I inherited it from my little bro who got it from a buddy. I used the recommended dvd's and pulled it from a .rar. Would that be the result if a have an older MOD? Thanks for your help

Update the firmware of your burner to 1.4 and try again: -
http://www.sony-optiarc.eu/supportservic...cs/ad7240s.html
As for burning at the wrong speed, the discs you're using only support being burned at 4X, 6X and 8X with that burner, which is why you get the "Write Speed Miscompare" entry in your ImgBurn log. You're selecting 2.4X as the write speed, but ImgBurn changes that to 4X as it's the closest supported speed. That's nothing to worry about.
If the firmware update doesn't help, I'd try a different brand of discs. I have the same burner and I use Verbatim discs (burned at 8X) and I've never had a problem with it.

I am a newbie to this downloading of movies, apps and games, but what intrigued me is how to burn xbox 360 games. I bought ASUS DRW-24B1LT RW-DL, Verbatim DVD+R DL Singapore and downloaded the latest ImgBurn.I got the ImgBurn settings from forums and video tutorials.
I got an old Xbox 360 that I can play with. I tried to launch a game thru ABGX then burn it - no errors. Loaded to xbox but only saw the xbox 360 intro. I know my xbox is not ready yet.
Here is my confusion:
1. Modding my xbox means flash\cross flash?
2. Which one to flash - my Asus or the xbox drive? (I got the link on how to open Xbox ready)
3. Do I need to have a drive that support booktype (for ImgBurn - BenQ, Plextor, LG...)?
4. Are there softwares I need to flash? Are these softwares specific for make and model?
Kindly guide me to proper links to go thru this. I found so many versions out there but only added to my confusion.
Best Regards to all,
KenjiK

Originally posted by NDarkness: YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR 360 MODDED TO AT LEAST iXTREME 1.6 (1.51 FOR HITACHI DRIVES) TO PLAY ALL OF THE LATEST GAMES!!!
STEALTH PATCH YOUR GAMES FIRST!!!-
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/732074
So you want to burn a 360 game. Follow these directions and you will have 100% success rate*.
Here is what you need-
1. ImgBurn ( http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download ).
2. A Dual-Layer DVD Writer (must be able to write DVD+R DL).
3. High Quality DVD+R DL discs (Verbatim DVD+R DL that are Made in Singapore are the most recommended. Memorex or other cheapies are not.) You MUST use DVD+R DL, NOT DVD-R DL.
4. The .iso and .dvd file of the game. If you get a .000 file instead then that is fine. The .dvd file contains the layer-break info for the .iso (or .000). Read this to find out how to backup your original games. http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Fo...iewtopic&t=1191
5. A modded 360. Be sure to have the latest iXtreme (1.61/LiteTouch right now- 1.51 for Hitachi drives). All of the latest games are Wave 3/4/5/6. If you attempt to play a Wave 3/4/5/6 title on iXtreme that is lower than 1.51 then you will get a Play DVD error.
OK now follow these steps-
1) Download and install ImgBurn if you don't already have it.
2) Have your .iso and .dvd file ready in your desktop or inside a folder. They must be together.
3) Insert your blank DVD+R DL disc into your DVD Writer.
4) Start up ImgBurn.
5) Click "Write image file to disc".
6) In the lower-right hand corner where it says "Settings", make sure the write speed is set to 2.4X.
7) Where it says "Destination", make sure your DVD Writer is selected.
8) Now where it says "Source", click the folder with the magnifying glass. Now go to your .dvd file and double-click it.
9) Select the big button below "Destination" to start burning.
10) Now tick the boxes that says "Eject disc" and "Close Program".
11) Finally, let ImgBurn burn the game. Don't do anything else on your computer. Just go watch some TV. When your DVD tray ejects, the burn has finished.
12) Test it out on your 360.
And that's it! You just have burned a 360 game to play on your modded 360.
*Results may vary
dude i did EXACTLY what you said to do here and my360 just displays " xbox 360 " and nothing else.. i did it with iimgburn...... this is what i have:

Hi there, I've followed this guide to burn my discs but since changing my media from Memorex to Datawrite I haven't had one burn successfully. I've put a copy of the log at the end of this message and am hoping somebody can tell me if it might be the discs or something else I could be doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I did everything according to this guide, I even used Verbatim DVD+R DL, and everything went perfectly fine, except for the very last part, the dvd finished the burning process, ejected before verifying (don't know why did it eject before the verification process) and went back in the pc to finish, and then I get this:
I 16:35:53 Export Successfully Completed!
I 16:35:53 Operation Successfully Completed! - Duration: 00:40:47
I 16:35:53 Average Write Rate: 3,285 KB/s (2.4x) - Maximum Write Rate: 3,719 KB/s (2.7x)
I 16:35:53 Cycling Tray before Verify...
W 16:36:49 Waiting for device to become ready...
And it does not recognize the dvd now and it's stuck on this step! Can please anybody tell me will this game work without the verification process? (i don't have the xbox 360 in my house, it's for my cousin and I want to make sure it works before I go there). btw I have a shitty sony-nec dvd burner which only reads DVD-R (it read dvd+r when i bought it, but now it doesn't, I guess that is the verification problem, it also read the blank DVD+R DL) but it records everything without problem.
Thanks in advance! :)
UPDATE: I ejected and inserted the disk over and over again and it actually worked (i wasn't expecting that, it was from pure desperateness :) Now the verification is over, but I would still like to know if the game would work if the disk wasn't verified (in case the ejecting-inserting method don't work in the future).

Ok. I have a question. When I DL games I get a bunch of winrar files. Do I need to unrar these files to get the .dvd and .iso files? Also, I have unrared some downloaded files and got VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. Is this normal? if I get the 2 folders, how do I go about burning them?
Thanks.

When you unzip the files, you should have a .DVD and a .ISO file.
In some cases, the app you use to unzip the files, WinRAR for example, will be associated with .ISO files. That means that the .ISO file will have a WinRAR icon, which may confuse you into thinking that needs to be unzipped as well. Inside that .ISO file will be the TS folders you're talking about, so you've gone a step too far as you don't need to extract those folders.
Install ImgBurn and associate .DVD files with it. Then once you have your .DVD and .ISO file, all you need to do is double-click the .DVD file, ImgBurn will start and you burn your disc. If you go to Tools - Automatic Write Speed in ImgBurn, you can even set the default speed to burn certain types of discs at, so you don't even need to set the burn speed as ImgBurn will do it for you.

This happened to me the other week. The burner was physically dying and it did actually fully die a few days later.
Verification lets you know whether a burn is good or bad. If you don't verify a burned disc, you won't know whether it's good or bad, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's bad. It could be just fine. It's a good idea to verify all burned discs, as it doesn't take long and at least then you know that the burns are 100% good. If there's an error part way into a disc, a game may boot, then crash part way through, or if you install games on the 360, it may get to 73% (for example) and then the install fails every time. Unless you're in a mad rush to burn and play a game, leave the verify option checked.
If you're getting issues with discs not being recognised by the burner, unless you're using crap media, I would say that it's probably time to replace the burner.
