Yes but you need to JTAG your 360. Search for how to JTAG.

Try looking for a firmware update for your burner. The discs you're using support write speeds of 2.4X and 4X, but your burner can't even manage that and is selecting a 2X write speed, so the issue may be compatibility between burner and media. Sometimes updating the firmware can fix that, otherwise try a different type of disc (I would recommend Verbatim).

Hmm, NDarkness, your guides are awesome, i didnt get confused at any part of the journey.
I am, however, suffering from the xb360 thinking that the games i have burnt up are DVDs, and it goes the the xb360 logo with DVD controls.
Is this most likely due to the wrong firmware that I've flashed with? i see a few other people in the posts with the same issues, but couldn't see clarification as to what their problem was due to.
i have a wonderful Hitachi 79xx and followed a couple of really old guides (apparently the 79 is harder to flash than others), so i think i will go ahead and try to re-flash, but if someone with the expertise would be able to point out the most likely cause that would be fantastic...
im trying another game after i re-flash if my current one doesn't work, but i only have one Singaporean verbatim dvd+R DL DVDs left.
maybe if i could find a definitive Hitachi 79 flash tutorial less than 2 years old might be good :P

Seems that you are trying to play games that require a newer firmware for the drive. Update and you should be good.

Googling the drive it looks like it will work. Just be sure to update the drivers if you haven't already.

Looks like you are trying to play an Xbox 1 game. There are other guides on how to properly play them.
The guide here is just for Xbox 360 games.

I don't know why people have a hard time with flashing their xbox 360 drives or burning backups. I have some advice for people that have problems burning backups. I would use my tried and true method of going to walmart grabbing a external DL Lite On (works great for $65.00) I don't even burn my games on Verbatims I use Memorex DVD DLs. The last time I had a problem burning backups was when ix 1.51 was new and I used a $35.00 LG internal. I get the dvds from buy.com for 30 bucks a spindle of 50.

Well I would NOT recommend for people to use Memorex DVDs but if it works for you then more power to ya.

Verbatims are over rated I tried almost every brand out there and they all work you just have to have the right drive. The only difference is how fast they get scratched. But if you're like me and you take care of your discs you don't have anything to worry about. That just my opinion take it for what it's worth.

The thousands of people who have had trouble with "cheapy" discs beg to differ. Once they started using Verbatims their problems were solved.
Again, it's great that you are getting great results with many brands of discs, but to many users out there they won't have the same experience. So, that is why I recommend Verbatims to lessen the chances of errors.

But you have to admit that most of the problems the thousands of users have are drive related not disc related. So you see it's not much the type of disc but more on the burner they use.

No, there were some cases where they bought a brand new burner, used Memorex or other cheapy discs, and the games did not work. Once they used Verbatims the problems were solved.

Exactly. So that proves my point that there are cases where using cheapy discs is not the best option.
