a very big thank you to OGGNOGG,and for getting me up and running, not just that, but he encouraged me when i was giving up, he took me through it step by step, he even found me all that i needed ( A VERY VERY BIG THANK YOU FOR THAT) he even stayed with me till gone 4:00 A.M,started from scratch, and it was so, so, much easier, i could'nt have done it without his help. his patience was next to none, and we was up and running in less than 1 hour actual time ,though we did chat after. there's a lot of needless work going on out there, and people like OGGNOGG have to unscramble the mess we make. look for his link to get what u need , and ask him for advice,it worked for me. thanx again.

Hello

Does anyone have a tutorial guide as to how to upload an image using the null modem method.

Unfort i have a box that is stuck in kein system and as i do not know the ip address of the system my ftp client is not connecting anymore.

Also the image i uploaded was a 1x for a Sagem dbox , from what i have read these tend to me 1x boxes , does anyone know if they also have 2x as well ?

Many thanks

hi every1 I THINK THEYVE TRIED TO DO IT AGAIN!!!!
my son was watching something this morning & it froze so i tried switching through channels only to get a black screen (on all except fta channels) oh no!! or so i thought! this time i didnt panic just rebooted the box by remote & everything ok again PHEW! so if this happenes to anyone else i suggest you just do the same & all should be ok
also glad to see that the bigmaq toolbar now has the area codes with the list of keys this will save a lot of confusion as to which keys you may need to enterfor your area!

Unfortunatly mine has not updated and I cannot update it. The box wont save any of the changes I try to make. I tried to flash the patch from Bigmaq tool bar. I dont think I done it right and it's just sitting in the dir. Looks like normal TV for me untill I work it out.

yes youre definatley better getting the fixes especially as they rolled the keys again this morning my box is working fine (just had to reboot) so theres the proof it works
as far as putting them on your box i strongly recommend that you read back 20 or so pages you should find all the info you need.i know this sounds daunting but trust me itll be well worth it. you will need to know a few things before you start 1)the type of box you have 2)your area ie ex c*w, pure nthell etc 3)your image ie sportster, commando etc.you will also need an ethernet crossover cable (you can get these at places like maplin & even argos)i thought i would never do it myself but it really is easy(especially as i now know how)
hope this helps & good luck!

Yes mine went off again at 10.30 so I went to the keys and (just like you said last week) they only changed 95 to 85 in the T/W*** V***** Edinburgh area, so I changed it .

I should do this fix you are all talking about but I am scared to do it as I believe you must connect to the PC I have NEVER done this before and I am afraid to take the chance as I may destroy my box, and my other half would kill me. Is there any way to do the fix with out connecting to the PC?

hi have you downloaded the bigmaq toolbar yet if not google it & download it you will find the latest codes there but you will need to know which area youre in (c*w nthell etc) you can tell now because theyve added the area codes ie n5c01,n5401 etc so if you just copy the 2 keys that match the area code you have on your existing key & reboot the box after saving the keys it may work other than that the better option is to download the fixes for your box from the bigmaq toolbar (it auto updates the keys & saves entering them over again each time they (v****n) roll out fresh keys.you will find how to do this if you read back 20 or so pages of this thread. would like to help more but im off out shortly however i have found that there are many people who are very helpful & friendly on this thread so im sure any question you have would be answered. ill be back on later this evening so if you have an unanswered question that i can help you with i will (no guarantees mind im no expert!!)but i did manage to get my box back on problem free with a bit of guidance from oggnogg
hope this helps & good luck

dont think there is another way other than connecting to pc or manually keep entering codes as v****n update them which is a pain in the ass!i myself was exactly the same i had never done anything to my box before and i was sh*****ng myself that i would delete/overwrite something that i shouldnt but with a combination of a little reading back into this thread & help from oggnogg i managed to get my box on & hell if i can do it anyone can!!!!

Should i use an ftp explorer and if so what directory do they need to be put in and im guessing they overwrite the current ones? anything i should be careful about? cheers lads. matty
