I think this thread is a little off topic. I don't want to hijack the GT4 thread. That being said, yes private trackers are ones you register for. I rarely use them, not enough diversity amongst the torrents. Newsgroups are faster and there are free ones, truth be told, I don't care to learn to use them. I'm already trying learning enough through school, talking to modders, learning how to backup movies with DVD Shrink, and using Nero Vision 4 to encode movie files to DVD. That's enough for me. None of that stuff is that hard to use, but I'm content enough with BitTorrent to not worry about NewsGroups. Cheers!

lol come on man thats all easy ish it shouldnt really matter about threads being off topic, one person is not always gonna check on every thread to answer every question. Then when a new thread is started no one bothers to answer! anyway not many free newsgroups have groups where you can download games fromso i guess we'll both be sticking to torrents!

WTF? Is there a MOD in tha house?
Hey Tokijin,
Long time no see... Got acquainted with some super special Verb/TY's... (You know, the ones you cant get in there yet, Creaky's very own favorite gear... :p)
omg mate... The 25 disks i bought lasted 2 weeks non stop burning, 25 sucessful burns. Games, films, data, music, the lot... I haven't even been online for ages! Need to order some more... I got cravingns for those mood changing verb/TY's!!
There's only one that didn't do it good as such... NFSMW. Burned good, played bad, the same as the sh@te discs.
Note: I use Alcohol 120% as my backup program for ripping scratched originals. DVD Decrypter can be picky with scratched discs. I use DVD Decrypter to burn the mds file. For purposes of this guide, I'm assuming you are you using Alcohol 120% to burn the game to disc. Feel free to use whatever works for you.
Alcohol 120%: http://www.free-downloads.net/programs/Alcohol_120_
UltraISO has good error recovering as well and can create MDS/MDF files which alcohol makes
steps
open UltraISO then on the top tap it say tool, click then click make CD/DVD image select the output format ISO or MDS/MDF and select where u want the file to go (if u don't know what I'm talking about grow a brain)
http://www.ezbsystems.com/ultraiso/download.htm
u can also burn the file u just made in UltraISO as long as Nero is installed. u click tools then burn CD/DVD image, select where image is, tick dvd then burn at 4x

Lol so many people complain about the disc quality being bad and shit, it seems ive hit the jackpot when it coems to cd's and burning, i always buy random packs of DVDs always turn out to be Riteks, I just decrypt normal PS2 games (Mount ISO and DVD Decrypter for downloaders) and burn them 4x speed with Nero, works every time =) you guys gotta come live in Zwolle, Holland man, i think we only got Riteks in here XD

Hi There! I used alkohol's way of doing the bigger PS2 DVD9 game God Of War. I did it all the way he said and it only plays about halfway then freezes up.Also for (i suck) I did the matrix it works fine. I think I did it with DVD Decrypter. Read and write to Sony DVD-R. Maybe try writing slower. I don't go over 4x.Slower is better. I have 200 ps2 games done up. About 10 are burned to play online. I only have a problem with God Of War freezing about halfway though the game. I will try burning it again...I hope that will work. Later......

People cracked Path of Neo by rebuilding it with Expert. That's a common problem with God of War. It seems to mainly affect Swap Magic users. You could try rebuilding the down sized iso.
11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949 With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515 With Expert (Gnie's new rebuilding tool):
Gnie's PS2 Auto Rebuilder Tool Download (Thanks to 3DLuis):
http://www.alucard.cc/ps2/ExPERT_v1.03.rar
Instructions to Gnie's Tool ExPERT From Paddymail:
Here's how to use it.. it might not work for all games though.
Open the program.
1. Select the Shrinker_ps2_psp_CdDvd5_iso.epi on the plugins drop down list.
2. Select the iso you want to rebuild.
3. Click extract LBA.
4. Click extract file and wait for it to finish.
5. Click rebuild file and wait for it to finish.
6. Click rebuild LBA.
7. Burn the new iso with Nero or DVD Decrypter as usual.

@whom may concern about GOW aka God Of War:
This thread (this guide is universal, meaning it's NOT a direct guide for rebuilding "ALL PS2 DVD9" games). However, it will work on nearly 95% on PS2 games, if you have the right tools that I've provided, but for the few 5% hard-to-rebuild such as GOW, GT4, XENOSAGA and a few others, you'll need to have its specific "ripkit/rip tool" in order to successfully rebuild the ISO and have a working backup for Swap Magic users.
For GOW, it has it's own "ripkit", so my advice to anyone who's interested is to use GOW's Ripkit, for XENOSAGA is to use its Ripkit. As for 50CENT, NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED and PATH OF NEO, these 3 are mainly basic, just use the method I provided or use Gnie's ExPERT and it will work as well.
If you have followed the guide carefully and you still have problems such as loading, black screen, then there is definitely a "step" that you've missed, or it's the media you're using that has cheap dye, or either you're burning too fast or too slow. In addition, like I've mentioned on the very fist page, keep in mind to always check for your burner's firmware for updates, updating your firmware is the most important role when it comes to dvd/PS2 games burning -- firmware will inhances the burning performances and increase media compatibility.
Number 2 rule of thumb is to always use high quality media like genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo or datalife plus" and Maxell (made in Japan by Hitachi). I can only confirmed the media that I've the most experiences with and those that are rated as top notch quality media (ie rank 1st class media). However, the choice is yours and you'll have to know your PS2 console in and out that which brands is the right one for it.
Keep in mind that I'm not a computer guru, so I can't have all the proper answers to all of the questions asked here. However, in this thread, I will only "provide" the games that I've rebuilt and worked for me only. Again, I am NOT a genius, but I will try the most easiest way to revise other guides and put it here, so other Newbies can follow them easily.
Now if you'd asked me something about ripping or burning dvd movies, then I can safely say that I have more knowledge and experiences on that regardless if it's encrypted protections ie ARccOS or RipGuard. I've used tons of methods to bypass those craps/junks or fake/bad cells, or encrypted sectors flawlessly. Most of the tools I used are FREE, except for Nero only.
Enjoy it and stay tune for some of my future guides to be added in this useful thread. Good luck to all gamers and happy burning!!

What's going on Permiggs. Glad to see you've had good luck with the Verb TY's. Your luck was bound to turn around. At least the worse of it is over. I think NFSMW was just a fluke. You could always get a modchip if you really wanted to play it bad enough. I know they're a no no in the U.K., but I think you could figure out a way to get your PS2 modded. It doesn't need rebuilt, but several people have had issues with isos of the game they downloaded. The "Black Edition" is supposed to work okay. I think he was just suggesting that for people who can't get it to work. I haven't seen a single post where a person with a chip had issues with NFSMW, just Swap Magic users. Cheers!

Hello Tokijin.
Endeed i'm ordering some more of those disks soon.
I'm afraid there's no PS2 chipping allowed in here. That is the main reason why i went with SM. I do know a couple of people that offer their services but they also offer no garantee of sucess...
So far every game i try works with SM, it's just that one... I bought a pre-owned NFSMW on sunday for 20 quid anyway.

Good Deal. Swap Magic is a good product. My friend uses it, now all his friends want to know how to burn PS2 games. It's like crack lol. A good modchip blows Swap Magic out of the water. I know of at least one good modchip site in the U.K. http://www.ghost2fitter.co.uk if they're still in business. Once you have a good chip, there's no going back to disc swapping. Cheers!
