Yeah private trackers can have a lot better download speeds than public ones. I had to use private trackers to find Gun, Blitz the League, and a couple others.

@ bigpoppa1 Use Alcohol 120%. DVD Decrypter can be picky with scratched discs. You may have to let it run for awhile, but it'll finish.

88. Q. How do I burn PS2 DVD games with Alcohol 120%?
A. Ripping the game to your Hard Drive:
1. Insert your disc.
2. Open Alcohol 120%.
3. Click Image Making Wizard.
4. Check Ignore read errors, select your recorder, leave the never seperate box alone.
5. Click Next. Select a destination for the game. Click Start.
Once the process is complete, you'll get an mds and an mdf file. Click finish, if necessary.

Burning the game to DVD:
1. Insert your blank disc.
2. Right click the mdf file.
3. Select Image Burning Wizard.
4. Select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x.
5. Click next.

Note: I use Alcohol 120% as my backup program for ripping scratched originals. DVD Decrypter can be picky with scratched discs. I use DVD Decrypter to burn the mds file. For purposes of this guide, I'm assuming you are you using Alcohol 120% to burn the game to disc. Feel free to use whatever works for you.

When I try to back up 50 cent bullet proof i get an error message when using dvd decyrpter as follows:

Interpretation Unrecovered read error

Can anyone help
@bigpoppa1

It means that DVD Decrypter can not rip the disc due to bad scratches, dirty, etc. You'll need to clean the disc real good with some dish detergent soap or car wash soap, then try to have DVD Decrypter rip the ISO again. You'll probably need to set "ignore read errors" inside the settings as well.

Good luck!!

i_suck, I got my 50 cent from bitsoup too, you know why the sizes differ? The bitsoup release has no videoclips. So ingame, dont buy the extra videoclips, theyre expensive and they dont work... hopefully they will release a better one...

Bittorrent doesn't suck that bad. Newsgroups may be faster, but they're not all free. I get decent speeds on BT using Azureus. Maybe you were using a crappy client that came with spyware, or your settings weren't configured right. Millions of people use BitTorrent, it musn't suck that bad. At least, that's my opinion.

Because you're probably behind a router or firewall.

Go to Control Panel-->Network and Internet Connections-->Network Connections--> right click the connection you use to get online, go to properties. Click on the Wirless Networks tab, View wireless networks, and that should tell you what kind of router you have.

Then go here to configure it:

59. Q. I have broadband, but I'm getting download speeds of 2Kb's a second, how do I speed it up?
A. You may have a NAT error. This is especially true if you're using Azureus and have yellow smiley's all the time. You can go to Tools--> NAT test to see if this is the case. A NAT error means you are behind a router or firewall and need to open the appropriate ports. The default listening port for Azureus is 6881. It uses both UDP and TCP. Remember, since Azureus is java based, you need to open TCP and UDP ports for javaw.exe as well! Most firewalls are easy enough to figure out, so I'll leave that to you. For info on configuring common routers check here: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

You're most likely behind a router. It's built into your DSL gateway. That's why it's downloading slow. In Azureus go to Tools-->NAT/Firewall test. I garuntee it'll say NAT error.

I've never even tried bittorrent, but I've heard all sorts of negative comments from serious users. IMO millions use it for the same reason millions used kazaa...cause even a child can use it. I use newsgroups, but primarily mIRC. I've heard the speeds are poor on bittorrent, and that many files are images. So what do you do if you get 99% of an image file? Delete it and redownload? No way! I prefer my shit packaged properly from groups in "the scene". That way I can get individual rars of any release if they're corrupt or missing rars, but of course everyones tastes are different. If bittorrent works for you then by all means use it I guess. I was merely stating my 2 cents worth, and maybe someone who reads this might actually try newsgroups or mIRC for the first time. Sorry to get so off topic :)

Your max download speed for BT has little to with how fast you can download, it has more to do with how fast seeders can upload. Hence why you may only get 20kB's/sec at time. Newsgroups are faster, but the good ones cost money. I like the versatility and ease of use of BitTorrent. I've only had a file stuck at 99% once, it's not a common problem. If your happy with newsgroups then continue to use em. I'm happy to use BT, I guess I'm just a child lol.
